Ron Dennis confirmed their both heavier, in case of rain tomorrow.
I don't really know if I want rain.

Well, if the race is wet, Hamilton is good in wet conditions, also Heikki, but not Massa... so maybe it's not bad news after all.

The only thing I want, is an easy start, I think I have small chances to suffer a nervous breakdown and I never have chances. Laughing Laughing

Yeah, but I'm scared about the start too. The only way that would work for us would be a safety car start, but they can be more dangerous when the safety car goes in. I really don't know what I want for tomorrow, other than Lewis to win.

YES YES YES
I knew he could do it!
I nearly had a heart attack in the last few laps though.

Don't expect me to be able to comment on anyone else, I'm too happy.

Louis Massa's face was priceless when he realised Felipe hadn't won...
I do feel sorry for them though...

(Has anyone else noticed that the poll percentage only adds up to 99?)

Erm...

I am still not able to assimilate the situation.

The race was controlled, until final laps, when the rain appeared. All the drivers stop to change the tyres, except Glock, who gets the 4th position. When there wasn't any hope because it was impossible to overtake Vettel, in the last curve, both overtake Glock and Hamlton finishes 5th.

I won't forget 'the image'. Watching a car crossing the final line... I imagined it was Glock, but suddenly, no information, 4 Vet 5 Ham on the screen and:

I am sorry if someone is disturbed with this, in that case I'll remove it.

Massa has driven in a very good way, at least he is going to be more respected in the future. Kovalainen protected Lewis at the beginning, and that's why he lost 2 positions. Then a good race, and finally 53 points. Good luck for the future, Heikki, you will be luckier and better next season, sure.

Well, 9 years waiting for this, and when you don't expect the victory, you get it... Thank you team, thank you Lewis, thank you Heikki, thank you Pedro, all of you have made a person a bit more happier.

I officially love Timo Glock.
I wonder if he actually knew that he was 4th and if Hamilton was to overtake him he would be champion. By the rate they caught him up I begin to wonder if he didn't know that his position would have any affect on the championship. Maybe he just thought he couldn't do it anymore so he would stop trying because it wouldn't have any affect anyway.
I suppose the details don't matter. Lewis won Smile that's that.

Poor Coulthard though. Crashing out of his last GP Sad

I will be brave and admit that I wasn't pulling for Hamilton. Sorry. I had a hard time watching Massa on the podium and such, although he conducted himself quite well, given the circumstances.

The last three laps, I went from the couch to the floor, screaming, yelling, pounding on the floor. That has got to be the most emotionally involved I've ever been in a race.

One helluvan ending for the season, though, an unbelievable finale.

very true but remember, had massa driven like that throughout the season then he wouldnt have been in the position he was at interlagos.

massa couldnt win the championship on his own merits in that last race, all he could do was come first and hope lewis finished badly. lewis however had the chance to win it on his own merit by qualifying in X position as long as massa was in Y position. so it was playing more into lewis' hands if you see what i mean.

still massa drove a good race. all he could do on sunday was win, and he did just that. good lap times, no mistakes, perfect pole to flag finish. but because of his performance earlier in the season the ability to win the wdc at interlagos was out of his hands. he had to rely on hamilton making a mistake.

im so glad lewis won, not just because hes a good driver but also because he has had so many people saying he will never be wdc material. i love the fact that people are still saying he doesnt deserve it or are trying to say that it was a CONSPIRACY LOL involving glock.

seriously though for about 20 seconds at the end of that race i couldnt believe it. i thought lewis had thrown it away AGAIN.

when he moved over for kubica i thought he was letting kuby unlap himself because he didnt want to end up in a tangle with him. at the time i was saying to myself " watch out for vettel watch out for vettel " because lewis moved off the line. then when vettel went through for a secondi was so p*ssed off with lewis lol for making a mistake...... except it wasnt a mistake it was team orders!! but nobody outside mclaren knew that Laughing

when glock dropped back i couldnt believe it, then the tv showed all of massa's family cheering so i thought maybe there was a mistake. i thought maybe massa DID win and the tv had got it wrong. then of course i saw massa's dad smile turn into a look of total shock like in that .gif image someone posted Laughing

mate, seriously, that one really went down to the wire and im so glad lewis won it. i feel kind of sorry for massa, especially when i saw how upset he was. also felt sorry for his family thinking hed won the wdc. in the newspapers it said that massa was world champion for 21.1 seconds after he crossed the line haha and then after that lewis passed glock and it was gone again.

wow what a race, what an end to the season.

i know alot of people resent lewis and didnt want him to win, but be honest.... ask yourself this: would there be this much discussion and this much energy surrounding the wdc if massa had won instead of lews? im sure most of brazil would have been ecstatic but i think that the 2008 season would be remembered more with lewis being champion rather than felipe. just my thoughts.

LEWIS WORLD CHAMPION 2008

(omg!!!)

Steve Rider said on ITV after the race that if Massa would have won they wouldn't be celebrating with McLaren, but looking back on the penalties, and really it could have been the final nail in the coffin for the FIA Ferrari Favouritism conspiracy. But now Lewis has won even with all of those penalties.
And as for Glock deliberately slowing down? I don't think so. He said so himself in a Q&A on

My dad thinks though that we'll probably be seeing a photo-shopped picture on one of the Spanish hater websites (apologies to any Spaniards, but they are pretty much all Spanish) of Lewis handing Glock a load of money in return for that. The worst thing is I believe it could even happen... pathetic really.
I did feel sorry for Massa crying, and for his family, but I said all weekend, if Massa had driven better the rest of the season, he wouldn't have been 7 points behind. If he hadn't ruined Malaysia and Silverstone, among others, for himself, he would have been in a better position. But the same can be said for Lewis. If he hadn't made mistakes in Canada and Japan, among others, he would have clinched the title a few races ago.
But F1 is F1, people make mistakes, there are controversies, at the end of the season there can only be one champion. This season is over, we can look back and wonder who deserved the title (and like Massa has said himself, the man with the most points deserves it) and how things could have been different, but it's over now. Lewis is champion... that's that!

That's me; well, I've changed the room, I have put myself a pair of breasts, a high-pitched voice and I've translate everything to English, the reaction was more or less similar.

Let's see if Heikki makes me do it again with McLaren during next seasons. I hope he will.

Almost me, except I had a little less volume because of the baby asleep next door. And I wasn't wearing my t-shirt because its from 2007 and it has the number 2 on it, which is Massa's number.
But I can wear it next season, because it'll be Heikki's number Very Happy

Also, you can't have McLaren and Ferrari fans the watching races together. It's bad enough hearing me and Mikey arguing about F1 on a Monday after the race.

i know its dumb theres hundreds of quotes floating about saying it was down to his tires and totally wasnt on purpose, plus the telemetry proves it.

i just hope mclaren can keep up the pace next year, and it would be nice to have both cars in the points regularly rather than just the one.

i read somewhere that the mclaren this year was more geared towards lewis' styleof driving. like the setup was set towards his preference of a really super sensitive nose with the back sliding all over the place, and thats why heikki had some problems with it since they were using the same setup on his car... which seems weird to me.

if mclaren has any chance of catching ferrari in the wcc next year, or holding off bmw then we need to have heikki on the front row more often.
