Well, Heikki today did the best, I am even impressed with the 13th position much better than I thought. Lewis was unlucky in Q1, who was going to say that he was going to be three times in a row out of Q2 after being Champion in 2008?
Tomorrow our chances are behind the SC, with Heikki's fuel in Silverstone it's very difficult to get something in normal conditions.
About the ''new'' championship, I agree, Eccle$$$$$$$$$tone and Moxxxxxxxxley have been a cancer for F1. Most of the fans support the teams and their idea and so do I. |

What a shame of... everything.
I am sorry for Heikki, the race was very good until he stopped in Lap 33. Then it was over.
5th retirement in 8 races, it must be frustrating for the Finnish man. And the worst thing is that few things can be done with this.
4th consecutive race with 0 points for McLaren, in 2004 we were 3 consecutive races without points, so very hard situation for the team, it had never happened since I watch F1.
I would blame the fact of 'testing banned'. Without tests, it's very difficult to improve. But at least we arrive to Germany and the track suits us a bit better (Not too much, but a bit more, I am waiting for Hungary because in that race maybe we can enter the top-8 ).
Beside this, the race wasn't a great thing; at least Vettel and Red Bull seem to be able to put a bit of interest to the Championship, but I have the feeling that today it was an accident for Brawn-Mercedes and Brawn and Red Bull will be neck by neck in Germany.
And nothing more, 3 weeks without F1. The interest will be in knowing what will happen in 2010 with the Championship. |

well, the mp4 24 is officially a piece of junk
hopefully redbull will be able to keep on improving and will be able to give vettel a real good shot at the wdc.
still.... although more bad luck for lewis and heikki these races are still useful as extended testing periods. so hopefully the car next year will be far more competitive and we will see much better performances.
its good to see that heikki remains confident though, he has a very good attitude this whole season, even though things are going badly. i think perhaps lewis could learn a thing or two from him and keep his chin up. after all, at least lewis can say that hes won a wdc, that alone should keep his confidence in himself and the team up.
im looking forward to the next races though, if the brawn continues to underperform in cool weather conditions then we might see vettel closing the gap in the drivers title. it would be good to have another season like 2007 and 2008 where the title fight went right down to the wire (minus the politics of course)
finally, bye bye silverstone. slowly we are losing such classic circuits and are getting more and more sterile locations in new markets. ive got nothing against the far east but empty grandstands speak volumes. im tired of bernie and his whole corporate thing, rubbing shoulders with crown princes and such just to get a bit more money. f1 has lost something. _________________

I'll miss Silverstone.
I think we should all conspire together to do something to make sure that Donington isn't ready
Just like a bunch of lengthy power cuts or something. Get another year out of Silverstone... _________________ Mini: 'How dare you go out when Monaco is on?!'

I am kind of sad that F1 didn't break up ))) because I would have meant that Silverstone could definitely get a race with the majority of the current teams!!! _________________

I agree....
Anyway there's still a chance of Donington not being ready for 2010... _________________ "Ayrton Senna was an extraordinary racing driver. His skills, craft, subtlety and courage were of such magnitude that he dwarfed his generation of drivers."

Especially if we interfere with the power so that they can't carry on _________________ Mini: 'How dare you go out when Monaco is on?!'

Posted: Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:13 am Post subject: British GP could alternate, says Bernie |
|
|
| Quote: | Bernie Ecclestone has raised the prospect of the British Grand Prix alternating between Donington and Silverstone if the former is not ready to hold the 2010 race as planned.
With Donington’s financing of its £80m redevelopment project having been hit by the recession, Ecclestone indicated at Silverstone’s final scheduled F1 race last month that the event could return there after all next year if Donington fails to deliver on time.
And with Donington circuit CEO Simon Gillett still to confirm details of how the scheme will be funded, Ecclestone has now seemingly handed Silverstone a further lifeline by floating a race-share arrangement from next season.
"If they [Donington] don't do it, Donington will get together with Silverstone," the Formula 1 supremo told The Independent on Sunday newspaper.
After shocking the F1 paddock last summer by announcing a 10-year deal with Gillett to move the British race from its traditional Silverstone home, Ecclestone insisted he would not return the sport to the Northamptonshire venue even if Donington's plans fell through.
However after revealing last month that his change of stance towards Silverstone had come about because of a more constructive attitude from its owner the BRDC, Ecclestone has reiterated that the race will be back there in 2010 if Donington isn't ready and it in turn completes its own improvements to facilities.
"If Silverstone do all the things they promised me they are going to do, we are going to be at Silverstone," he added.
But while Silverstone has always made it clear it would welcome the British GP back should Donington not deliver, BRDC president Damon Hill has rejected the prospect of a race share arrangement.
The 1996 world champion says such a move would be “absurd” and that Ecclestone should instead negotiate a new long-term deal with Silverstone, Hill doubting the viability of Donington's plans.
“I am not in favour of rotating it,” he said.
"I think it's an insult. It's another absurd step to try and squeeze as much profit and as much benefit for the commercial rights-holder. It's not a long-term strategy."
"I'm in favour of the contract for the British Grand Prix being negotiated with Silverstone because I don't believe that the Donington project is viable."
Silverstone, however, has past experience of sharing the British round after the race alternated between the historic circuit and Brands Hatch between 1964 and 1986.
Germany is the only country to currently alternating the venue for its race, with the event switched annually between Hockenheim and the Nurburgring so the circuits can share the race-hosting fees.
