I watched the live practice and its quite exciting.
Fernando Alonso got fined for crossing the white line while entering the pit lane this afternoon.
It seems to favour the Ferrari's, judging by the times. For the part of the session I watched Felipe Massa was a whole half a second up on Lewis Hamilton and almost a second on Heikki.
But the drivers have all said, although its a street circuit, its more Melbourne than Monaco.
But this is F1, anything can happen.

Massa gets to keep his win apparantly, and I think he really deserved it today, he was in a class of his own at the front.
Heikki did well, but I agree with Harry, he needed to start closing Kubica down earlier, although I'm not sure if he was actually trying to do that, or if he was just responding to Raikkonen.
All in all, a good race, but hopefully next year it will be more exciting now everybody knows the track and what to expect in a race situation. |

wow. As I can see I´m not the only one who was bored during the race....
as Lady wrote, it´s a nice circuit but there was almost nothing to keep an eye on expect the track and its amazing surroundings......
and I agree Heikki could have done so much more. He started to push at the last stint. I don´t know why...maybe because he was afraid of the tyres? ...hard to say but it´s a pity. He could have reached the podium :-/
His drive was too conservative today. I´m a bit dissapointed to be honest. |

Ferrari have serious reliability issues now.
Two engine blows in two races, caused by the same thing.
This is not good for them...
Which is great for me
Ferrari's defence in the unsafe pit release is that Massa did lift so there was no accident and Sutil should have backed off, he was a back marker anyway.
I think this is a pathetic defence, Sutil had the right of way and Massa should have had to wait. _________________ Mini: 'How dare you go out when Monaco is on?!'

Boring race, if we don't take into account the incidents Ferrari suffered.
Nobody was able to 'do' anything. Good result for Lewis, Felipe and McLaren. It's hard for me to believe that we have options in the WCC. We've had 4-5 consecutive races with great results and McLaren-Mercedes is just 8 points behind Ferrari. Heikki is not unlucky now and he is able to fight for podiums almost in every race (They will come oftenly in the future). Hamilton is getting advantage from the car to achieve the WDC. It seems that the team is working in a very good way!
Belgium is always one of the best races of the season, I don't want to be dissapointed... we'll see.
About the poll... It's hard to judge. Anyway, marshalls are not going to risk (Both championships are really close) and they will avoid making difficult choices. They did the easiest thing. |
