The 2006 GP2 season will kick off at the Valencia circuit, organisers confirmed on Wednesday.

The Spanish track replaces Bahrain on the calendar.

As in 2005, the GP2 series will feature at 11 rounds of the Formula One Championship.

This season, however, the series will begin with the stand-alone event at Valencia. This first event will feature on the back of the final pre-season GP2 series test at the same circuit.

GP2 2006 calendar:

Valencia, Spain 08-09 April
Imola, Italy (San Marino) 21-23 April
Nürburgring, Germany (Europe) 05-07 May
Barcelona, Spain 12-14 May
Monaco 26-27 May
Silverstone, Great Britain 09-11 June
Magny-Cours, France 14-16 July
Hockenheim, Germany 28-30 July
Hungaroring, Hungary 04-06 August
Istanbul Park, Turkey 25-27 August
Monza, Italy 08-10 September
Spa Francorchamps, Belgium 15-17 September

It was on Eurosport UK today, and will be there tomorrow - do you have Eurosport? Smile

And last year it used to be live timing on the Eurosport web-site! Must be on this year too...
