I could not believe this.
I've just found out minutes ago and ran down the stairs yelling 'Schumacher' in a very very high pitched voice.
Then sent messages to my two best F1 friends...
His manager said he wouldn't be doing it even though his PR said he would consider it.

Schumi had an injurie, Schumi hasn't raced in f1 for 3 years, he hasn't driven this car yet, he doesn't know how to use KERS, he is 40 years old. I don't think he's gonna perform well. Maybe a point or two.

Of course I respect him. But at the moment everybody is speaking about Schumi. If you read the newspaper the first you see is a picture of Schumacher or if you watch the news on TV the TV-Channels bring Schumacher Specials.

I'm sorry to say but that nervs me because I'm not a Schumacher fan and for me the important thing is that Massa is alive and OK Very Happy and not if Schumacher drives or not

I'm sry I now know that a lot of people I this forum will hate me Sad

I love you Smile
I don't like Ferrari in general.
My facebook status in the second part of qualifying for Hungary was 'FERRARI IN THE WALL BABY Smile' before I realised he was quite seriously hurt.

Of course you have to respect Schumacher for his achievements, but my dad likes to point out that it was Schumacher and Ross Brawn that made the multi-championship winning team. Brawn leaves Ferrari and their performance dips, Brawn starts his own team and they win 6 of the first 7 races.
I wonder how good Schumacher will be without Ross Brawn eh?
And the car isn't exactly spectacular. It doesn't matter how good the driver is, if the car isn't good he won't go anywhere.
It will be interesting to see Schumacher racing again, expecially in a not-so-good Ferrari and after the years he has spent in retirement. And I'm sure it will be an honour for the other drivers to race with the legend that is Michael Schumacher.
But to be honest, I think he will spin several times and possibly crash the first time he gets into that car, he can't test it in this four weeks till Valencia and he's not driven one of those things since April 2008 - so nothing with KERS on slicks with the new regulations.
This could be interesting.

And yes, I also wish everyone would shut up about it. It's almost like a watered down version of when it was announced that Michael Jackson died. After a while you just think okay, we get it.

It's always nice to see the most prize-winner driver of all history in F1. Again.

But, sincerely, I think it's a mistake and it seems a kind of mediatical movement. I am sure bernie Ecle$$tone will be very happy.

Has Michael something to show to someone? No, he hasn't. Why don't Ferrari use Marc Gene or Luca Badoer? They know the car, the team and they've testing for Ferrari for years.

Sportly, I don't think M.Schumacher is the best option, when you are driving a F1 car, you need high physical preparation, and it takes a bit of time to be prepared. I am sure M.Schumacher is fit, he is a sportman, but he will have to work hard in this 3 weeks.

Then your driving skills play its role.

Anyway, we will enjoy. It seems that things with M.Schumacher on the track worth more!

I'm quite frankly over the moon with this! I've supported Schumi ever since I started watching F1, so yeah, why would I complain? Mr. Green

Even looking to go to Spa now. Would love to see him race again Wink

btw, schumi himself ruled out a come back at first! So he apparantly said to the German media. Guess he changed his mind...

well its easy to read much more into this than there actually is. all this could be very true.... but it could also be the fact that schumacher is very loyal to ferrari and given the choice between 3 possible reserve drivers with one of them being a multiple world champion the choice is basically a no-brainer.

although im sure bernie "did somebody say money" ecclestone will be very pleased at all this (probably going to + the ratings by millions) i think this was simply a case of 'best-man-for-the-job'.

but yes you are right, it will be enjoyable to watch

I think we were all waiting for this

Quote:
Michael Schumacher has revealed he won’t return to Formula One racing at the European Grand Prix later this month. Schumacher had planned to replace the injured Felipe Massa for Ferrari at the Valencia race, but has been forced to cancel his comeback due to pain in his neck, which was caused by a motorcycle accident earlier this year.
