And what do we think to Renault being suspended from the next race for Fernando's wheel fiasco?

I think that if Surtees had not died last week and if Massa had not risked to die on Saturday the team wouldn't have been suspended.

That's not fair...on other occasions other part of cars flew off from the cars and no penalty was given. I think a warn was sufficient...

surely Renault will be able to race in Valencia, but it's going to be tough with the FIA.

And again Webber was penalized in GB and Kimi yesterday was not penalized for a similar move.
Lewis risked to have another flat tyre after passing so near to Vettel Confused

Anyway good race for McLaren... Red Bull didn't have their usual pace. BrawnGP has struggled all weekend...I think now Jenson can only aim at some points... he can't be on the podium with a car like that; there haven't been aero updates and McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull (and even Rosberg and Toyotas sometimes) are faster than BrawnGP.

As for the championship Webber is the one who deserves it in my opinion Smile

i would love to see webber take the wdc. i know all the drivers on the grid want that title, but i reckon webber wants it that little bit more. especially now that hes tasted his first victory and finally has a competitive car.

i wonder though about the brawns performance, are they brining more updates to the car in the next gps? or was hungary just an unlucky race for them? they were basically unstoppable in the first half of the season but now that the other teams have started to develop their cars and catch up the margin doesnt seem as big anymore.

also, i dont agree with renault being penalized like that. but yeah you guys are right that its probably because of the accidents we have had recently which led to that decision. it shouldve just been something like a fine or something. not a punishment as big as this.

still, it makes me wonder for how much longer is fernando going to stay at renault? flavio doesnt seem that certain about alonso's contract....

I do agree that the penalty was more harsh because of whats happened recently with Surtees and Massa, but I also think that recent events do justify it.
Any other time it wouldn't have been as shocking and nerve wracking that it happened but because we saw a driver die a week ago in a scarily similar situatuon it does seem justified to heavily penalise the team who caused it. I know they didn't mean to do it but it was an unsafe car that he was driving. He shouldn't have been released with a loose wheel and as soon as he realised it was going to come off he should have pulled to the side of the road and let the stewards deal with it.
Renault are going to appeal anyway and I think maybe the FIA will revoke the decision and make Fernando take a grid drop for driving an unsafe car and give Renault a very heavy fine. But we don't know, the FIA are incredibly unpredictable in their decisions...

Edit: It does seem to annoy me though that any incidents involving Ferrari's seem to be investigated after the race. Adding 25 seconds to someones race time is not like a drive through penalty, expecially one early in the race when a driver could hit traffic and there could be a radically different race result. I thought incidents were only investigated after the race if they happened within the last 10 laps, where adding a time penality to a drivers finishing time is much more representative of a drive through penality.

Thought I would keep us all updated:

Quote:
Felipe Massa has been taken out of an artificially-induced coma as his recovery continues, doctors told reporters in Budapest on Monday evening. The injured Ferrari driver has also been able to speak with family and medical staff.

"His condition has improved significantly over the last 24 hours and he remains stable," Lajos Zsiros, chief surgeon of the Hungarian defence forces told a press conference. "We have ended sedation and taken him off the respirator.”

Massa suffered a fractured skull during Saturday’s qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix, after being hit by a spring from another car. He was flown from the Hungaroring circuit to the AEK military hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

"He is still sleepy, but has been able to reply to questions and has been able to move his limbs adequately," continued Zsiros, who went on to explain that it was likely to be at least a week before doctors could be sure that Massa has avoided lasting injury, though he stressed that a full recovery was possible.

Responding to reports of potential damage to Massa’s left eye, Zsiros said it was too soon to confirm or deny this as the Brazilian is not yet able to open the eye sufficiently to allow for his vision to be examined. This should change over the next few days.

Massa will remain in intensive care, though doctors have no plans for further sedation and his condition is expected to continue to improve. His wife, his parents, his brother and his friend and manager Nicolas Todt will spend another night at the hospital, where they will meet Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali on Tuesday.

I'm quite sure Webber is gonna win the title. He has more points then Vettel, he makes less mistakes, they are both same fast - Webber even fastest last races. Webber has a better car than Button has. So it's gonna be Webber I'm almost sure.

i wish i had your confidence.

if mclaren and ferrari keep up the recent pace theyve shown then it could hurt red bull if brawn manage to get their act together.

brawn might have been on the back-foot for the last few races but ross brawn isnt the kind of guy to sit around and do nothing.

id love to see webber win the wdc but i reckon brawn still have a hell of a lot more hidden up their sleeve, plus button doesnt have to worry about his team mate taking points from him.

poor old rubens doesnt seem up to the task (also hes had phenominal bad luck with mechanical issues)

also, thats good news about felipe.

I don't belive that Barrichello's mechanical issues were bad luck. He always had problems on start when he was close to Button (Australia, Turkey), and he had a lot worse strategy in Spain. And gearbox failures in Turkey and Malaysia.

Brawn is a genius, but people are saying that Brawn was so fast because they broke rules - as they were not a f1 team, they could use the wind simulations as much as they wanted. Right now they don't have any money with which they could work on the car. And Webber is extremely close now, less than 20 points. Certainly it's gonna be much closer than we expected after Button just won race after race.
