20 May 2009
It was a very early start today, very early… But totally worth it, as it’s Monaco time!! Got up at 4.45AM and dad brought me to the trainstation, where I took the train to Brussels. In Roosendaal, I joined my partner in crime and the fun could begin Wink
Oooh and when we switched trains at Brussel Central Station, there was this Belgium group wtih a few kids and the dad was so freakingly hilariously belgian!! I don’t think I can translate it properly in English, and I’m sure it’s very common to say in Flemish, but in Dutch it just sounded hilarious. The kid didn’t want to sit down and dad was like: “You, sit down on your poo now!” I know, I know, it doesn’t sound hilarious at all, but it was, trust me...

At the airport, we still had to wait for check in to open, so we just sat down and wrote the card we had bought Jens, as we are giving him a gift. That, I quickly gift wrapped yesterday, not paying attention to anything, so while I was writing the card, it struck me that I still needed to translate the Dutch text that was written on the gift. Which was...gift wrapped... So, had to unwrap it again and mumbled that I had possible left the price tag on as well... You may guess once...sometimes I’m such a big idiot!! But now everything looks the way it should. Just hope we’ll be able to give Jens the gift, but I think we will manage.

At the check-in it was written you could only have 1 piece of handluggage with you, but I had my bag and my laptop, so I had two. But the woman at the desk was being really difficult about it, so I just took a plastic bag out of my bag, put my two bags in it, had 1 bag and was allowed to take that on board with me. Seriously...so stupid. I asked her why it’s not allowed to crry two small bags on board, whereas other people take 1 small suitcase with them; that 1 suitcase being bigger than my 2 bags. All she could answer was that it were airline regulations, which I found a very unsqatisfying answer. So Easyjet can expect an email (And I don’t think I’ll get an answer back, but I think it’s a stupid rule...)

Then, when we could board the plane, priority boarding was allowed first, but there was this preppy guy who insisted he had booked priority boarding, but nothing was printed on his ticket, so he couldn’t board first and was Stinksauer and pissed off *snort*
But I would like to know how the decision is made with A and B boarding, as people were allowed to board first, but they didn’t check in before us... Ah well, we got a window seat, but it turned out to be on the wrong side. Although we flew over Paris, and I spottede the Eiffeltower!!

Anyways, there was this whole family sitting around us; they came in very late, so couldn’t sit together anymore and the dad just trhrew my laptop back out of the overhead luggage thing. I was like: “Excuse me, can you put that back please? I don’t think that’s yours, as it’s mine.” But he apparantly wanted to sit underneath his suitcase, as he said he only moved it aside 20 cm...so what? I told him he could have put his suitcase there as well and if he would have turned around, there was a whole empty box. Told him he showed quite selfish behaviour and that he was an asshole (but the latter in a little more friendly way, I’m not THAT rude...)

But, God punished immediately as he spilled his wine, got told off by the stewardess as he had put the baby on an empty seat, which is not allowed as they’ve got to sit on your lap, and more of those things. Whaha, good news Very Happy
Bad news was the crying baby 2 rows behind us. Damn...went on for pretty much the whole duration of the flight...fab....not...

At the airport it didn’t took too long for our suitcases to arrive and we went over to the bus, that was very, very late, so we opted to go to terminal one and take bus 23 to Nice. That, typically, left when we arrived, so in the end we did board the bus we initially wanted to take *sigh* as it was already around 4.30PM when we got in the hotel, we decided not to go to Monaco anymore.

Got to hear at the reception they might be planning a strike again, which is bad news. I
hope they’ll decide not too, as it really wasn’t funny last year... But we’ll see. Oh, and our tickets for Stars ‘n Bars had already been dropped off in the hotel, which is fab!

After changing outfits, we went into Nice and into the sea for a bit. Then had dinner and bought most of our errands at the Monoprix, only to return to the hotel a little while later.

21 May 2009
We took quite an early train to Monaco and found out we had to take a detour to get to Rocher, as apparantly the normal exit of the trainstation was blocked. Still had to pick up my GP2 accreditation, so went to look for that, while Wendy went over to the grandstand already. Think I’ve crossed whole Monaco about 3 times. Followed the signs saying accredition in the end when I had found them and ended up near the GP2 paddock, as that’s where the signs directed me. But no, I couldn’t pick them up there, and had to walk back (again...). In the end I got my accreditation and went up the parking lot to ditch the laptop.

Then it was off to the grandstand to watch the ontrack action. Oh, and we were right in front of the Williams box later on! How convenient!
In FP1, Vettel blew up his engine and with a somewhat smoking rear end of the car, he passed us. Nothing else really happend, other than the fact that again I took too many photos. After FP1, I walked over to the other side, to meet up with Julie and take a few pics at the GP2 line up. Giedo van der Garde was standing right in front of the Williams box, which was quite cool.

The GP2 practice was a downright mess. It looked more like a race, than a practice, with crs all over the place. I reckon it was Valerio who crashed and blocked the track, causing a code red with 2 minutes to go. That meant practice had ended and Wendy and I rushed over to the pits side of the grandstand. Found an okay spot, but pretty soon after, the guy behind us left and we moved up one place and now sat by the fence.
Jens came by to do a little wee and when he was done, a few (including me *cough*) called his name and we got a wave from the 2009 champ! Wink

Pretty quickly after FP2 started, Robert Kubica blew up his engine and his practice was over. Apart from that, not much happend again. A few did a coupe de la chicane and Felipe Massa was pissed off with one of the Force India guys. Can’t recall who it was, must check my photos as I took a photo of the moment the both tried to make it through the chicane side by side. They failed btw Wink

But, after the practice, we got the highlight of the day! We saw Nico in his underwear! *snort* Professional as we are, we were too late in taking a photo, but there’s photoproof, as Julie did get a few photos...

Afterwards we walked over to the F1 paddock and met up with Jenson mom. She’s such a sweetheart. Got us a bottle of water, which was fresh from the fridge, so we cooled ourselves down for a moment. Jens wasn’t scheduled to come back before 7.30pm, so in the end we decided to try and give him the gift at another day.

Wendy then disappeared to Williams as it was pretty crowded there, so there must have been a driver outside. Turned out it was, and better news for Wendy, it was Nico. So she returned happily with signed photos.
In the meantime, Pedro de la Rosa had walked past, and apparantly I had missed Maro Engel as well, as he was walking a few meters in front of Pedro. Well done chick. Be proud of yourself... In my defense, it was very hot, and I have a sunstroke...

Alex Wurz and Bas Leinders were in front of the Brawn GP motorhome and later on, we spotted Jean Alesi as well, who was leaving the paddock. So did Flav, but I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of him.

I then walked over to the GP2, to write an article about Qualifying and ran into Andi Zuber there. Asked him how quali went and he said: “Not bad.” I wanted to know what not bad meant and he said he had qualified on P4, which indeed is not bad, but it’s very good! Asked him about Alex Margaritis as well, as the two of them are mates and he was like: “Aaah, Alex!” *snort* Turns out Alex is working for his dad now (Thatg, Wendy and I had expected already...) and so far there’s no news about his racing, so unless Alex does get a seat somewhere, his career seems to have ended Sad

Walked up to the hospitaly, got myself and ice tea and sat down to start working. Downside of Wendy’s laptop is that the battery only lasts for about 30 minutes, but still, that’s better than my laptop, which doesn’t do wifi at all!!
So had to rush with writing as pretty soon the laptop started moaning the battery was near empty...

When the battery died, I walked back to the F1 paddock to look for Wendy and ran into Tonio. Had a highly intelligen conversation with him *giggles*
Relin: Tonio, what were you doing in Hocki last weekend?
Tonio: I was there only on Saturday and mainly at F3 as the brother of my girlfriend races there.
Relin: Oh really, who is it then?
Tonio: Caldarelli.
Relin thinks who the fcuk is that again?: Oooh, he indeed is pretty good.
Tonio: Yeah, but he had a shit weekend
Relin: Yeah, unfortunately that happens to all of us every now and then. I’m sure it’ll go better next weekend.
Uhuh...intelligent isn’t it?

Apart from that we’ve spotted Christian Klien and Adrian Sutil.
Since we were exhausted, we decided to go and buy the last bit of groceries in the supermarket. That turned out to be closed already, most possibly because of Ascension Day, so exhausted as we were, we still took a walk to the supermarket for nothing *sigh* But, on the way back we ran into Ross Brawn and I congratulated him with the many successes this year!
Fortunately we didn’t have to wait for too long as the train arrived pretty quickly.

22 May 2009
I left my laptop in the GP2 hospitality and then headed back to grandstand L to watch the first GP2 race. The people in front of me had their bags checked and when I got there, they were long gone, but I didn’t have to open my bag. Could that perhaps have been because I wore my GP2 pass? Or were they just checking randomly? Asked Wendy if she had to open her bag and it turned out she had to as well. Reckon it may have well been because I was wearing a pass then...

Alberto Valerio crashed his car right in front of us, but of course we were both late in taking a photo. Fantastic...
And several others missed the chicane or hit the rail as well. It’s Monaco, so the latter thing is rather common...
Barwa Campos was a happy team as Romain Grosjean won and teammate Vitaly Petrov scored a 2nd place. Initially Lucas di Grassi was on P3, but he was punished so the 3rd placed driver in the end was Andi Zuber, because Nico Hülkenberg also got a time penalty.

After the race we walked over to the GP2 paddock, as I was still supposed to write an article about the race. Met up with Sandra and Tineke, who were already waiting there and chatted a bit with them. We also spotted Jarno Trulli en Marc Gené there and we took some photos of the crashed GP2 cars that were brought back.
We spotted several of the GP2 drivers (perhaps more, but we don’t know what they all look like...) and ran after Dani Clos to have a little chat with him. Dani found the circuit quite hard, so that must have been the reason he crashed out. And when we were finished he didn’t pat us on the back, but it was more like carressing us on our backs. Must be a Dani thing to do Wink

I then went looking for Giedo van der Garde as he had a problem at the start, retired and later on got back on track. Didn’t know what was going on, so I wanted to ask him, and then add it to my report, but Giedo was nowhere to be found. On my way upstairs I did ran into Tiago Monteiro though and took a photo of him. Whaha, it went like *FLASH* and Tiago immediately said: “Hi.” Haha, was probs funnier if you had been t here...
The hospitality was filled with drivers and teams enjoying lunch, so I took my laptop, but it on the wall and did my job standing.

Wendy, Sandra and Tineke were outside and were yelling at me that Giedo was downstairs. Like...WTF?! Becuause of the ‘shock’ I almost dropped the laptop out of the window, but luckily everything went allright. Looked around several times to see if Giedo was showing up, but he wasn’t. When I was done with my article, I posted it up on the website and shut down the laptop, which was almost empty anyways. Put it back and one of the cooks asked me what I had put there. Told him it was my laptop, as that was a little too heavy to carry around with me. He wasn’t convinced yet and wanted to know if it wasn’t a bomb. Grinned and told him I wouldn’t dare to blow up the place Very Happy

I then walked down again and re-joined the other three girls. Naturally I then saw Giedo again. Went over to ask him what happend, but couldn’t update anymore as the battery of the laptop was almost empty.

Went back to Wendy, Sandra and Tineke and continued chatting with them. We then spotted Nico Hülkenberg, with a towel, going down to the sea. While he decided to go for a swim, we decided to take some photos from up the hill of a swimming Hulk. Whaha, and it was so funny! He looked like an otter. Seriously. But at least he cooled down, whereas we couldn’t go for a swim...
During Hulks swim, Andi Zuber stopped by as well and was on the phone.

When Hulk was done swimming, walked up to go back to the GP2 paddock, we walked on a stopped a bit further down the road to chat again. All of a sudden, Sandra spotted Robert Kubica and she was like: “Kubica is coming!” Seriously, the four of us grabbed at the exact same time in their bags, looking for their cameras, because well...it was just Kubica, so it was a rather sad move. Absolutely ridiciulous and pathetic behaviour which we realized as well and then burst out in an uncontrollable laughter. And that, well, that made Kubica laugh again. I really don’t know what possessed the four of us though.

10 minutes later we finally stopped laughing. At one point I thought I was never going to stop, but I managed. We walked over to the F1 paddock towards the Red Bull Engery Station. Sandra was well awake, as she spotted Mika Hakkinen and yelled Mika was arriving on a boat. Sort of the same sad behaviour again as we have shown with Kubica and four girls ran towards Mika. Not like we were the only ones, as Mika was surrounded by fans. Then had an ice cream to cool down.

By that time, the track was long open so we decided to walk around the track for a bit. At the start/finish straight, I spotted Seb Buemi and sad he was running towards us. Apparantly a running Buemi is by far not as interesting as Kubica and Mika, as only Wendy grabbed her camera (Then again, she took over 2000 photos so she may be a little bit obsessed anyways Wink).

I still don’t get who can do the pitwalk though. I always thought (and at one point it was) only people with weekend grandstand tickets were allowed to do the pitwalk, but we showed our Sunday Rocher ticket and could go in as well. At Brawn GP they were practicing pitstops, so Wendy and I stayed there for a while. Rubens Barrichello showed up with his kids and shortly after we checked out the other teams. Williams was done pretty quickly as they were covering the cars and later on closed the garage. Oh, and we also saw Mark Webber.

After the pitwalk it was time to spot some nice and fine cars on the track. And boy, have we seen some fine pieces of art! We sat down somewhere in the shade and Wendy said she saw John Button (Jenson’s dad) driving past on the street below, in a very cool oldtimer Chevrolet Corvette.
Checking out John’s car (or is it Jenson’s?) and then it was time to continue our tour around Le Famous Track. Stood inside the tunnel for a while, just enjoying the sounds of all the beauty that drove past. And some really made a show of it. Stopping in front of the tunnel, revving up and then full speed through the tunnel! Fab!!

Oh, and we still had our mission of wanting to see a Bugatti Veyron. Well, mission accomplished. Only downside was that the car was covered, so we still couldn’t see anything. But that it was a Veyron, was a 100% certainty. Mission for next year, I reckon, will be to see one driving Wink

Naturally we spend some time over at the Casino and the dress code for this year was pretty exclusive and very fast. For some reason though, next to a very shiny and, I think, quite unque Lamborghini stood a bright yellow Fiat 500. It’s not like you hear me complain though!

Having done our lap around the track, we were done. Drained. Exhausted and walked around like we were two 80 year old grannies. Seriously, if the train was about to leave, we wouldn’t have been able to run to get it. But fortunately we didn’t have to run...

Whaha, and later during the evening, I had updated my Facebook status that Hulk was an oink oink seal (Didn’t knew the english translation for OTTER) and then Maro wanted to know why. *snort* Was a good reminder though and I shouldn’t really put everything in my status *sigh*

That's a serious coupe de la chicane!!

23 May 2009
We arrived at the trainstation, not even that early, as we had booked tickets for Stars ‘n Bars. Had planned a paddock day, so we decided to have lunch at Stars ‘n Bars and besides, it was cheaper to buy a ticket for the restaurant, than buying one for Rocher and going down in a illegal way, besides, that was practically impossible, as the police van was parked right next to where we went down illegally last year...
Anyways, the train was already waiting at the station, and when we got to the platform, the train was packed with people. We then walked further to the back, had to get in as the train was about to leave and came in a pretty much empty compartment! So we’ve had a very quiet trainride!

Walked over to Brawn GP, where someone was signing. Couldn’t yet see who, but I told my mate it had better not be Jens. Turned out it was, so I rushed ove, but it was a case of just my luck, as he walked inside when I arrived there. Shouted his name and that we had a gift for him, but it didn’t help. Barrichello did came out though and signed. Whoo! First autograph of the weekend. That was also because I couldn’t really be bothered to get my stuff signed.
But, knowing Jens was in the motorhome, I decided to wait as I really wanted to get rid of the gift. Asked Mike (Physio) if he knew what time Jenson would head to the box. I mean, he’s supposed to know. He expected him to go down there in 40 minutes, but after about 20 minutes, Jens showed up. Unfortunately I had a stupid camera guy in front of me, and Jens walked over to some Japanese girls first, then walked away, leaving me behind with my gift.

But...euh...not cool! I shouted again, but Jens didn’t hear me. Seriously wanted to get rid of my gift, so I ran after him, pushed my gift through the fence and told him we had bought him a present. He was like: “Cool, wicked!” Took it and then signed my photos and I told him to park the car on pole, before he continued his way to the pits. Mission accomplished!

During this weekend I must have seriously bugged everyone at Brawn about Jenson. If any of you get to read this: sorry. I promise next time I’ll try not too. Try not too that is...
Oh, and while we were waiting for Jens, bugging people whyen he’d come out, Flonso arrived on a boat, walked right past us, but we’ve missed that, thankfully!!!!

We then headed to the other side of the paddock to spot the drivers and whomever else going to and coming from the paddock. There were quite a few people there already, so we had to get there the hard way. Climbed over a bench, and stood in a serious tight place between the fence and a huge flower pot *sigh* the things we do for stalking.

We saw Jenson’s mum and had a chat with her again. Also, Maro came on to the paddock and we shouted his name. Maro, in the meantime, well raised by us, came over immediately for a chat. Who was going to be on pole? Jens of course! But he had some doubts about that as he also expected Nico, Lewis (uhuh...) and Vettel to be good. No no no mister, listen to Miss Expert. She knows best *cough*

When FP3 was finished, the drivers came back. Called Heikki, who said he was going to sign after quali. Okido, no problemo. Only, he didn’t, as he was giving an interview *sigh*
Oh right, and by that time, I had crawled my way out again, as I had found a better spot. On a flowerpot, I was able to stand way above the fence. Muchos better for photographing. Even could sit down there, only wasn’t able to move, so it was all but comfortable. Good practice for Sunday though! Wink

Glad I managed to get Lewis’ autograph. At first he hadn’t planned on coming over, so I shouted I had taken last year’s victory photo with me, asking him to sign it. That drew Lewis’ attention and he came over to sign, found the photo cool and then signed for a few more. It was totally impossible to get his after quali, as he walked past us, still with his helmet on his head, shoulders down, very disappointed.
And Lewis’ dad is about as famous as his son, as people did actually call him over to sign. And for some reason, Mr. Hamilton seemed to enjoy all the attention massively. After quali I called him over, as all we knew was that Lewis had crashed, we didn’t know where, why and how. But Anthony wasn’t that talkative. Just said Lewis had crashed his car and that it was very unfortunate...

Oh, and there were so many ‘unknown known’ people. Seriously, people bugged them for an autograph, but we didn’t have a clue who the were... Think I’ve found out about one now, but then there’s a whole mass left... :S
And the press is rather funny. Each time when they come in action, you know there’s someone approaching, you just don’t always know who it is. And that’s why we had to duck away again, because it was freak (pushing Frank Williams in his wheelchair) walking there. For the reason why freak’s a freak, read last year’s report please...

Oh, and Jarno Trulli demonstrated how to run on flipflops. Nelsinho Piquet wears an xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxs suit. Seriously, if he bends, it rips. And the press find his dad more interesting then Piquet Jr. Tonio Liuzzi wore matching shoes with his girlfriend’s outfit, but purple shoes don’t go with beige shorts and a Force India shirt...
Right, and Wendy called Tonio over for an autograph, but he said he didn’t have time. As fast as he could (Which wasn’t really fast...) Tonio walked over to the track, was stopped there for an interview, then walked back, saw some girls and started to chat with them. Uhuh... But in the end, Wendy managed to get his autograph.

Rubens again had his kids with him and they are just so cute! The oldest grabbed the hand of the youngest, who was picking his nose, possibly looking for something to eat, hihi!
And Bernie needs a new pair of glasses. He got to take his glasses off to read something on the screen of his phone. You know Bernie, these days there’s glasses available which can handle both; objects close by and objects far away...

And here’s for me trying to be helpful. Wendy said Troy Corser was in Monaco, wearing a brown blouse. So Relin sees a bloke wearing a brown blouse. Tells Wendy about it and is told that is so not Troy Corser. Then a little later, in the distance I see someone wearing a KTM shirt, wondering if that’s Mika Kallio. Then realize he’s not driving for KTM anymore this year. But you know, I really was trying to be helpful. Can’t help it that I don’t know Troy Corser and forgot that Mika switched to Ducati this year...
We did miss Nicky Hayden en Casey Stoner though...

Diva nr 2 (aka Nico Rosberg) is no longer a Diva as he did come back to the paddock after FP3. But Wendy had rather not seen it, as he had taken his girlfriend with him. Later on, he came over to sign.

After quali, Jens, Rubens and Kimi were driven to the media center. Of course, Jens was turned around in the car, so I have his back on a photo. Not that there’s anything wrong with Mr. Button’s backside, but I had rather seen more of the front...
Rushed over to the media center, as quick as I could leave my secure spot. Whaha, had to be a little careful there, or I’d make a huge fool out of myself. At the media center a whole crowd was waiting, so I just walked somewhere, was told to step back as the guys were approaching. Security put the fences up and bam, I stood upfront, more or less accidentally. Already thought they were in the media centre, but they weren’t. Did screw up with my photos though...

Naturally we’ve also seen many, many fashion victims. On the other hand, perhaps it’s fashion, but since I don’t do fashion, I think those people look ridiciulous!

Later on, Nico and Kazuki were supposed to do an interview at Williams, but naturally they were late. They also had to have their photos taken with a bunch of girls, but I have no clue who they were. Then, when we called Nico, he was gesturing and pulling funny faces that he had to follow the boss’ orders. In this case PR lady Silvia’s. Whaha, his expression was so hilarious. Poor Nico has got nothing to say Very Happy

But, in the meantime I was still waiting for Jens. I must have bugged everyone. From his mum, to his dad, to Nick Fry, to Mike Collier (aka Mikey Muscles...), to our Dutch commentator.
Yup, even our commentator. He walked past and I asked him if he had a clue where Jenson was. He didn’t, so I just waited...and waited...and waited...

Did see Anthony Davidson though and many teambosses were going to Toyota for yet another meeting I reckon. In the meantime I was still waiting for Jenson, while wandering a bit around near the Brawn GP motorhome.

Then, suddenly I spotted a big crowd at Brawn. No way! Not while I am at Williams!! It had better be Rubens! At a trot (okay, I sprinted...) I went over to Brawn, leaving my stuff at Williams and Wendy, in the meantime hearing someone say something in Dutch. Sort of stopped, looking around, saw our commentator in the doorstep of the Force India motorhome, who repeated it was Jenson signing. CRAP! Said thank you and ran on, only to arrive just in time. Dunno how I did it, but I stood up front in no time, flung my cap over the fence and Jens signed it. Can’t even recall if I congratulated him with his fab quali, but I’m pretty sure I must have. Otherwise, my sincere apologies and congrats with a fab quali!

Then was ready to run back to get my things, but hadn’t noticed Wendy had followed me, and had already taken everything with her. So stopped again and we stayed at Brawn for a while, going all mushy with Rubens’ kids!

When then walked over to Stars ‘n Bars for our very exclusive Burger dinner. Whaha, naturally all tables were full, so we got a thingy with us, that would make a sound when a table was free. Okido.

We walked on to the paddock exit and spotted Ant Davidson chatting outside the paddock. Poor Ant was bugged by...no one!! Eventhough there were quite a few people standing there. Guess you quickly lose your fame if you aren’t driving anymore...
Nelsinho Piquet was also trying to leave, but couldn’t move an inch before he had signed my photo. He had a girl at the back of his scooter, guess that was his girlfriend or so.

Wendy had the S ‘n B thingy in her back, but we were quite neurotic, fearing we might not hear it, so I said: “Shall I put it in my pockets? Because maybe it won’t beep only, maybe it’ll also vibrate.” And honestly, no lying, I had barely finished my sentence or the thingy started vibrating!! Seriously!! So I stood there with that vibrating thingy in my hand, just glaring at it. Whaha. We walked over to Stars ‘n Bars and indeed got a table. Fab. Didn’t even had to wait for that long. Drinks were highly appreciated and food was great too.

At one point, Rubens and the rest of the family walked by, ready to go home. People who were having dinner actually left their tables to rush over to the paddock exit, to try and get an autograph. I mean...you are having dinner for fcuk’s sake!! Then again, if Schumi would walk past...but Schumi ain’t Rubens! And Schumi wasn’t there...

Haha, and Kazuki Nakajima was lost in Monaco *snort* He came by on his scooter once, between Stars ‘n Bars and the paddock and 5 minutes later returned the same way, hihi.

After dinner we went on track and ran into Adrian Sutil. But that was not too interesting.
Continued our way and ran into Jeroen Bleekemolen, who was doing Porsches this weekend. Said: “Good luck Jeroen!” and walked on. Like we see him every week or something...
Picked up bits and pieces of Grosjean or Zuberchen’s car and then walked over to Flav’s boat, where a whole crowd was standing. We didn’t know what for, but we just joined them. Could have been for Flav, could have been for Flonso, could not have been for Piquet, as I doubt he’ll recieve an invitation to Flav’s boat...
But then, after a minute or 5, the VIP we’ve all been waiting for showed up. A little dog (or was it a hamster?) who came off the boat like he owned it. Y’all, this is my boat, okido?
But little doggy’s fun was quickly ruined, as his boss called him over and he had to turn around to walk back. In the end it turned out we were waiting for Flav...

Oh, and today we’ve also managed to ask some people if they can cook. All for research that is, although we’ve forgotten most of the times.
In the category: downright NO -> Tonio, Max Biaggi and Nico, who was pulling a weird face. And Rubens, well he’s sort of able to cook as he has lived alone for half his life (Rubens’ words!!)

Maro!!!

24 May 2009
What an early start. At 5.15am our alarm went and we were on our way to the trainstation at 6AM. That’ll be thanks to people who are claiming a spot in the GA area. If you want to have a somewhat comfortable seat at the hill, that is more or less the time to go.

Sat near Mr. Englishman, who was later filmed by the BBc, but unlike other years, I found him a little quiet this year. Perhaps that was because he was almost kicked out of Monaco. Dunno the full story, but all of a sudden we spotted him walking down the pitlane. Turned out he got all the way to Williams and then was taken away, ready to being thrown out, but he still had his ticket for Rocher with him, so he got back in or something...

Whaha, and the spot in front of us was quite popular. Think over 10 people have tried sitting down there, but that seriously was one of the most uncomfy seats one could have. So most gave up, except for 4, who sort of managed to stay there.

The Porsche race was rather dull, and so was the WSR race. It was a little less dull, but still couldn’t be bothered to follow it closely. Discovered the black/white button of my camera again and found the photos I took looked rather classy. Modern cars in a classy environment. Had to do something...

Then we freaked out as we saw a bus approaching and freaked that the Driver’s Parade would have been held in a bus. Quickly changed subject to see who would be sitting next to whom. But fortunately, the good old silver Merc truck showed up and the Driver’s Parade was leaving Rascasse.

By that time, it had gotten really hot on the hill. *sigh* I was pretty much melting on the spot... The BBC also came up to film the English peops on Rocher and Mr. Englishman was rather chuffed, though wasn’t paying much attention as it took him a long while until he discovered the Beeb. I was also filmed, but I doubt they’ve shown it. They didn interview another Bimbo with a Jens cap though. Should have been me, doubt she’s been a fan for more than a few months, wereas I support him since 2000. Crappy Beeb!

Halfway during the F1 race, I was looking around, looking on my watch, looking at the amount of laps which were left to go. I knew that if Jens would remain first after the start, the victory would be signed, sealed and delivered. And that’s how it was, so yeah, I lost attention, cause no one could keep up with Jens and he’d easily nail it.

During the in lap, I photographed Jens on the straight, for grandstand T and was waiting for him to go through the last corner. Saw a car, press the shutter and realised it was red! Noo! As quick as I could, I prepared my camera again and pressed the shutter again. Rubens. Like...WTF?! Where was Jens?!? Panic! Panic!! Argh! And then he drove into the pits. More panic! What are you doing babes?! Where are you going!?
Then he got out of the car, looked a bit around and started to run. Whaha, that was so cool!! Even better than raising your fist out of the car in the last corner!
And after the podium ceremony, he and Rubens waved to the crowds, while they were driven to the media centre.

Then we rushed over to the paddock, hoping to catch a glimpse of the race winner. Well, if we ever thought we could catch a glimpse, we could think again. Of course the whole motorhome was packed with press and there was absolutely NOTHING to see.
All of a suddent the people in there started to cheer, so me and Wendy just joined. We didn’t have a clue who we cheered for, but we took part in the happiness and that itself was cool *cough*

Jens was then on his way back to the pits, to do the group photos and I started to wander around for a bit again. Lewis was at McLaren, had signed and then chatted with some people. There was this kiddo who had gotten the megaphone from Mr. Englishman and he was shouting: “LEWIS!!” In such a way everyone would come over, cause they wouldn’t have the guts not to, whaha! Lewis didn’t though, as he waved and then walked back inside.

Fisi then got away on a little boat. Think he was done for the weekend. You know who’s done Fisi? ME! I’ve spend the whole day in the sun! Melting, being thirsty, not being able to move too much, otherwise I’d fall down. You, on the other hand, only had to race for 1.5 hours. That’s not done. That’s just getting started. Me, I’m done...

Walked back to Brawn and saw Luca Filippi. Wendy bugged him for an autograph and then we wandered on to BMW to spot Robert Kubica wearing some sort of pimpy outfit. We also bugged Timo Glock for an autograph. He was actually having a conversation with someone, but that someone then was on the phone and I decided that was a perfect time for Timo to sign for me!
And then all of a sudden, Nico came by. And Wendy hadn’t even seen him!

Back to Brawn, there was still nothing going on. Had a chat with Jenson’s mum again and she asked Nichola what time Jenson was expected to be back. She said in about 10 minutes, but it also could take longer. ARGH! And I wanted to congratulate him!
Had also met up with Jessica in the meantime and she’s really, really nice!! Also, Jenson’s mum gave me a cap, which Jenson had worn on Saturday. I could just about control myself and didn’t check what it smelled like (pst, that was the first thing I did when I got back in the hotel Wink) But that was so very nice of her, to give me the cap. Gave it a very nice place in my room!
After 40 minutes of waiting, we left though, as we were seriously done and didn’t want to wait for much longer anymore. Bet Jenson showed up 5 minutes after we had left though. Knowing my luck, he must have done so. Asked Simone to pass on my congrats and said goodbye to her.

Then we went on track to have a look for the Bugatti, which was nowhere to be found, but we did see other cool cars!

Jaime!!

How luxurious! We could have a lie in! Took our time to pack, checked out, left the luggage at the hotel and wandered a bit around in Nice. We sat down on a bench at the beach and enjoyed the sunshine, before we walked over to the old town of Nice.

Then it was time to go to the airport, where we arrived somewhat late. But, so Wendy said, that means we won’t have to wait that long before we can board.
Uhuh...at the time we didn’t know our flight had a pretty big delay.

Only after passport control, we saw our flight was delayed. But it wasn’t written down for how long. Bugger...no good news!!
Called my mum that perhaps she didn’t have to pick me up from the trainstation, on which she replied that that was good news. Whaha. “Really? You think so? Cause we are delayed and we don’t know for how long.” Right...not so good news.
In the end, we had a 2 hour delay, due to fog in Barcelona and the plane couldn’t take off. Then it turned out we still had a suitcase from Barcelona on board, or a suitcase which was meant to go to Barcelona, dunno really, but that cost us 20 minutes as well...

Thank god I didn’t have to go to Berlin, cause that Easyjet flight was supposed to leave at 3PM (Ours at 4PM), but by the time we were finally boarding, the people on that flight were handed coupons to get a drink. Their plane had a technical problem and they had to wait for a new plane to arrive...

We could see Monaco from the sky, but not as great as last year. Also, we flew over the snowy mountains, and the pilot said something about the Mont Blanc, but he only did it in French, so I didn’t understood much of it. Just Mont Blanc really, then assuming we were flying over the Mont Blanc. Then assuming that was on our right, as all those people were glued to their windows...

At the trainstation of Roosendaal, there were some drunk teenagers, who thought they were it...Seriously...they had Lily allen’s Fuck you on, and were singing along with all the Fuck you’s. Then shouting if anyone had alcohol with them...
What a life they have...

Then there were annoying yanks in the train, who wanted to let the whole train know they were from America. Asked them if they could lower their voices please and the male yank called me grumpy. I called him a stupid yank and he shut up.
Then, at the last train I was in, there was pissed off personnel. They were just shouting and fuming and fretting how unsatisfied they were with someone they work with. Seriously, I do not need to hear that. Go to the boss and complain. Or go to your colleague and tell him/her about it. This won’t solve anything and it’s far from professional to the passengers! PS, that was through a closed door, so they were really shouting...

Right, and then I got home. At 1.30AM, whereas I was supposed to be home at 11PM...

There! That'll be all, but I'm quite sure you've had enough of it if you managed to get this far Mr. Green
