What will happen in Turkey?

It doesn't seem a good track for us, high speed corners have been bad news all the season, but in F1 you never know, of course.

Friday has been very good, Hamilton came 2nd in the first session and Heikki has been 1st in the second one. Favourites haven't achieved great things, but as we know, Friday are not the real reference.

But it seems promising, let's see if both cars can go into Q3 tomorrow!

Any bet? Twisted Evil

No bets.

Awful Saturday, very far from top-10 in Q1 and Q2, so I feel a bit of dissapointment, I was hoping for more.

But nothing can be done now, if we are lucky tomorrow maybe we can get a top-10.

There's not much to say. We are where we were in Barcelona.
Monaco was a good opportunity of scoring points, but both drivers made mistakes, so tomorrow we can only hope for a Safety Car at the right moment.

I'm a bit surprised that Heikki didn't use Option tyres in Q2, maybe he could have been one or two places higher...but it wouldn't change so much. Anyway he's quite light, so he's got to overtake at least 4 cars by the time he will make his first pit stop. Lewis is probably on a one-stop strategy and he will have to keep his tyres fresh, as much as he can.

Heikki had a great start and fought really well with Barrichello.
I think in some street circuits or in some particular tracks like Hungaroring or Monza maybe we'll be able to fight for points. In normal tracks and normale conditions it will be very difficult.

BMW, Williams and Renault are really near in the constructor's standings... :-\

The results were fair, our car in Turkey was the 8th faster, so we finished in front of Force India, Toro Rosso and Piquet Jr.

The drivers couldn't get more, they did a good race, nothing to say.

Let's wait for the improvements in Silverstone and Nürburgring, our home races, if they don't work, the best thing is thinking in 2010.

Some seasons are good, some seasons are bad, this one is a very bad one, I think it's the worst one I've seen in all my F1 years (Since 1999). It's boring, everybody knows who is going to win, it's almost impossible to develop the car in a good way (You can use the wind tunnel, but that's only a good reference, and some of the times what you think it's going to work, it doesn't) and we still don't know what's going to happen with the conflict FIA - FOTA.

I totally agree.
Even 2004 wasn't a great season for McLaren, but at least there was a win and some good fights for points...

this season is more boring than 2004.

they seriously need to bring back mid season testing. i mean its hard enough right now for teams on the backfoot to catch up... but next season it will be even worse.

with no fuel stops and no testing it will mean that the fastest car on the grid will sit on the front whilst the rest form up a procession behind with no chance of ever catching up, let alone over-taking.

i hope all the stuff lewis said after turkey about looking to next season and staying positive is actually true. although theres little age difference between lewis and heikki you have to say that heikki has greater experience in terms of racing with not the best car and having tough seasons. i know lewis' career in gp2 and formula renault had its rough spots... but thats not the same as heikki having to struggle through with fisi in that terrible renault.

i hope mclaren come back stronger, much stronger, next year. hopefully they are getting some good data from each of the races and have something awesome in development for 2010.

until then though i will continue supporting lewis and heikki and the team as always. who knows, maybe mclaren will forget to fly their cars to silverstone and instead will pick up a couple of shopping trolleys with a dodgy wheel from tesco and race them instead. might even get a podium that way.
