Hi, that's a really interesting topic.
I'm 17 and I'm interested too in working in motorsport (if not f1, maybe gp2, f3 or even wrc)
Well, first you have to know yourself and know what subjects are you keen on. For example you've to be keen on languages and social subjects if you'd like to work in the press staff of a team.
On my point of view, I'm not a person who likes talking in public and I'm not so keen on being "diplomatic" . Though, I'm keen on Physics, Mathematics and Informatic Technology, so my aim is to work as an engineer (I will choose what "field" when it's time, even if I'd like to work in telemetries or race strategy - aero and engine are becoming less important now, because of the new rules for saving money).
For what concerns university, you have to know what prepares you for your future job, so in my situation I would choose Mechanic or Mechatronic Engineering, especially because the "polytechnic school" of Fiat in Turin (so some Ferrari facilites are there and it will be useful; even if I'm italian I'm not a fan of Ferrari ) is quite near to where I live.
You also spoke about Physiotherapist, but I don't know what subject do you have to study at the university...for sure you've to be quite keen on sport and a healthy person (which I'm not - I have really no muscles, I'm 60kg and I'm 1.83m )... I hope you can find your job in a team; good luck _________________ "Ayrton Senna was an extraordinary racing driver. My problem is that I'm also not the fittest person and I'm very shy. But I 'm in a class where I learn a lot of biology.
And this years I have to made my decision if
-I want to be an nurse an learn for physiotherapeut ( this school is very hard)
-I want to be an educator and go to university and learn for sth. with motorsport.
I made certainly the false decision what I want to become It was too early. I hope that I will find a job where I can have fun ( and perhaps in motorsport) |

If you want to combine health and medicine with f1 than I guess the right thing for you is to become some driver´s personal trainer
I´m studying mechanical engineering in Stuttgart (by Mercedes, Porsche, Bosch etc xD) but I´m not really into those dreams to get to F1 lol I´m a bit more realistic and hope first of all to find a job at all and that it will bring me enough money to have a normal life, but I´m not expecting to replace Mike Gascoyne or something... xD |

Yes, being realistic is the best thing. But anything can happen
What do you think you'll do after studying engineering?
Because I'd like to study mechanical engineering too, but I don't know what can I do to start the career. I know someone tried in minor series such as F3. What would you do? _________________ "Ayrton Senna was an extraordinary racing driver. His skills, craft, subtlety and courage were of such magnitude that he dwarfed his generation of drivers."

I don´t know but our Bachelor programe is 3 years. In the last (6th) semester beside all the lessons, exams and projects we will also have to do a practical work for some company (of course on the field of mechanical engineering). In 90% of the cases, after someone finish with this practical work (and at the same time with his bachelor program on that way), the company that the student worked for usually offers him to stay there and to be a normal worker and so on... So, my plan for now is to accept that (if I´ll be offered at all) and work for a year or two in order to save enough money with which I would then continue with my studies (master program). If I won´t be offered for that job then I guess I´d continue with my studies directly (if my parents will still be able to take care of all the costs for it)... However, for sure I will take care and try to do that practical work for some good company (maybe even those three which I mentioned above cuz they always offer working places for students from our university). Not only cuz they will pay me better than others but also because it will bring me much more "good points" in the future when I´ll try to find some other place to work and will tell where I worked before xD After that, we´ll just see how the things will be going... |
