I'd say that the only worthly champion (until last race) would have been Kubica, seeing that at least he wasn't throwing the points around like the other two and he is in the inferior car, so all the better for the effort!! Idea

I want Heikki to win.
The race I mean...
And Lewis second.

What are the possible combinations for McLaren to win the constructors does anybody know?

i also want heikki to win Wink

possibilities
1. Mclaren 1,2 Finish(18pt), Ferrari score less than 7pt
2. Mclaren 16pt(1st+3rd), Ferrari less than 5pt
3. Mclaren 15pt(1st+4th), Ferrari less than 4pt
4. Mclaren 14pt(1st+5th/2nd+3rd), Ferrari less than 3pt
5. Mclaren 13pt(1st+6th/2nd+4th), Ferrari less than 2pt
6. Mclaren 12pt(1st+7th/2nd+5th), Ferrari scores no-point

i think best situation is number one,
but i don't think that Ferrari will not score more than 7points.
so, to win the constructors champ Mclaren should pray for retirement of Ferrari driver. haha Twisted Evil

But the team has announced that they will sacrifice the constructors championsip and rather help Lewis win the drivers one...

I think they dont expect to win both of them....

I know, I wouldn't expect them to win both, but it would be great if they did, I just wanted to know the possible combinations. So thank you to Mitena for being the antidote to my laziness Very Happy
I know the drivers ones, its everywhere Smile
I'm really excited now. All my friends think I'm sad because I'm spending the weekend at the end of half term watching F1 while they're all going out drinking Saturday night, but I wouldn't have time to get ready after qualifying finishes.

i hope lewis wins since i have a feeling that if he doesnt win it this year then he wont ever win it. he'll take a huge hit from failing and then probably wont be able to pick himself up again. i mean just imagine it, think of all the millions of people prepared to jump on his back and lambast him the very second he fails. he can barely survive the media backlash when he steps one millionth of an inch out of line, god help him if he doesnt win the wdc.

Tbh I don't really care about the result as long as Lewis wins the championship. Would be lovely for Heikki to win though Smile. And for McLaren to be able to win the constructors too Very Happy. That would be the icing on the cake.
I'm going to cry if Lewis doesn't win.
And I'm also probably going to have to Sky+ qualifying so I can go to my friends. Sad I keep doing this.

It's going to be a veeeeeeeery long race. We'll have to suffer pretty much. At least if Lewis makes a big mistake, there are still some chances in WDC. If Heikki is out, WCC is lost automatically (Same for Hamilton).

So, fingers crossed, nothing else can be done from here except trying to enjoy and suffering (the least the better!) while the cars are on the track.

I think its stupid though that they can't use their free engine change at the last race, they've saved it all this time. I don't think they should be able to just use it before Saturday for the sake of a fresh engine, but if the engine were to go after Saturday practice (like Mark Webber in China) then they face a ten place grid drop. I just think it would make sense to allow it for that reason but not just changing it as a precaution (Kimi at Silverstone) or for more power for the last race.

i wonder what the weather will be like on sunday. they had some rain in friday practice. if its a wet race on sunday could be a blessing or a curse. hamilton really needs heikki to stay in the points, seeing as felipe can rely on kimi and lolonso to give him a hand.

Well, the qualifying is ok for the team, I think both McLaren cars are on a heavy strategy, and Massa is going to make 3 stops, the difference in times in Q2 and Q3 are to big to justify them by 'good or bad lap'. Unluckly, the heavy strategy makes WCC almost impossible.

So fingers crossed, and we'll see if the beginning of the race is normal, then Hamilton and Kovalainen will have to race normally and wait for the end of the race. Massa's chances are winning and waiting for mistakes.

Rain expected, so things can change in every moment.
