I wish it finished like last year... Twisted Evil

We are leading WCC, something which seemed almost impossible after the first 4-5 races of the season... Hamilton is in a good position, it's VERY important for the team to leave Japan with Hamilton leading the WDC.

And I trust Heikki, if he is a bit lucky, I am sure he is able to get 70 points after Brazilian GP. With those points, we can win the WCC. That's also very important and it's the best thing Heikki can do this season for the team. He still can finish the championship 4th, being realistic.

If those things happen, it would be an unforgetable season. But before dreaming, we have to assume the reality. It seems that Ferrari will be stronger than McLaren (Just guessing) in these races, so we can't make any mistake. In that case, the chances to win both championships are high. Making few mistakes has been the basis this season to lead the championships right now.

So good luck, buena suerte, paljon onnea, viel Erfolg for the whole team and the drivers while they are on the track.

if Heikki is Lucky then he might finish in front of Lewis or Behind In 2nd meaning to stay in lead of the Constructors we would have to have Lewis meaning a... Mclaren 1-2 in the race.

Very nice qualifying... One of the best this year.

If the circustances were different, Heikki would have high chances of winning, but McLaren-Mercedes needs points for Hamilton, so if there is nothing wrong with Lewis, he should win the race. 3rd position for Heikki and I think the strategy is the heaviest of the top-5. If he is able to overtake Kimi at the beginning, McLaren can achieve a 1-2 and giving a huge step to achieve both championships. If he is not able to overtake Kimi, it will be a bit more difficult, but nothing else Twisted Evil

But we still work with speculations, we'll see what happens tomorrow. But the initial position for the race couldn't be better!!

that quali was AWESOME. i was really hoping that heikki would be at least on the second row to secure more points for the team but also to support lewis. now that there is a mclaren, a ferrari AND a renault between lewis and massa its going to be tough for massa to come out on top. hopefully heikki wont lose it into the first few corners and will be able to keep his position. i dont know about a podium though. i can see massa pushing kovy aside either on track or through pitstops, massa is going to be on the warpath.

still, a good result for heikki, but often he seems to do well in quali but then on race day runs into alot of trouble. fingers crossed i guess, a mclaren 1-2 isnt entirely impossible.

also, did anyone get up early to watch the quali and will anyone be watching live tomorrow? for me in the UK 3am quali was a bit too early, i think that was about the time i went to bed Very Happy might get up early (or stay uplate) to watch tomorrow though, have a feeling its going to be a good race.

Sure, if I don't watch the races live, I don't feel ok. When you have to make an effort, it tastes better.

In Spain the race begins at 6:30 am, so I'll sleep 3 or 4 hours, I'll get up to watch the race, and then, again to bed.

I hope I will have sweet dreams. Exclamation Exclamation

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

You can't be happy with the final results at all!!

As I said, we were 'working' with speculations. In 10 seconds, Drive-Through for Hamilton and a DNF for Heikki...

Oh Heikki, this race, after the 1st lap, was yours, but luck always plays, also today. More than 2 years with a perfect engine and it has to blow up today... Sport and F1 is like this, unfortunately.

At least Hamilton still leads the championship, but in Constructors we've lost the leading and we are 7 points behind... difficult situation. Yes Lady, Bourdais has been penalized, so 1 point more for Ferrari and Massa.

Take into account that, before the crash between Hamilton and Massa, they were in the same position. Hamilton tried to overtake, Massa made Hamilton spin out, and both of them recieve a penalty (It's the first time I see a D-T for something ocurred in the first curve!!!), and at the end, Massa gets 2 points and Hamilton nothing. That's also unfair.

We'll see if we are able to get something in China, but as you can understand, I am a bit sad today, we had big possibilities and we've scored 0 points.

But the war is not over, if God is fair, we should win both championships.

That was one of the most exciting races I've seen in a while, but not too good from a championship perspective.
Bad luck for Heikki with an engine failure, but this is F1 and sometimes everything that can go wrong does go wrong.
Bourdais penalty was unfair, he did nothing wrong.
Hamilton's penalty was unfair, stuff like that happens at the start of Grands Prix almost every race weekend.
Massa's should have been a stop-go for missing the apex, and then causing an avoidable accident.
Well done to Alonso though, much as it pains me to say it he did well. He goes from not winning a race for a year to winning two in a row.

Has anyone else heard that Kubica has been criticising Hamilton for aggressive and dangerous driving? Has he seen his own driving?

Oh god, such an awsome race!
I strongly believe Heikki could have won as he said here:"Today started with so much promise and ended so disappointingly. I made a good start and, although I ran wide at the first corner, I still managed to slot in behind Robert and Fernando. I was feeling pretty confident about catching them both because the car was feeling just fantastic and then, all of a sudden, the engine stopped. That was a real pity because our reliability has been fantastic all season. Nevertheless, my pace today was good and I head to China feeling positive that we can once again show the same sort of pace we had this weekend."

I was really upset after his engine had blown! Mad

I agree that Bourdaisīs penalty is strange, I donīt think he did anything wrong...but I also think Massaīs penalty was unfair. He was pushed off the track by Hamilton. It wasnīt his fault.
But what Hamilton did in the Turn One...I just have no words. Sorry, I sometimes think heīs not normal. It looked like kamikadze or something. He could have injured someone pretty badly.

Hamilton went to deep into the first corner and ran both himself and Kimi out wide. People do that in first corners all the time to try to avoid collision, he didn't do anything wrong. Show me the rules against battling in the first corner.
And as for driving dangerously... F1 is dangerous!

ok first off it was an exciting race.... but also so disappointing.

seriously, is somebody sabotaging heikkis car before each race? i mean how much bad luck can one guy get? couldnt believe he had to retire, such a waste of a good chance.

also another flamboyant display by lewis that didnt turn out so well. but why in the heck did he deserve a penalty for what happened in turn 1???

also, massa gets gifted a point for colliding with bourdais even though the guy comes out of the pit lane and is on the racing line? whaaaat???

im starting to have flashbacks from last year. seems like mclaren have the wdc and wcc wra[[ed up, then all of a sudden during the last few races BOTH titles start to slip away. whats going on you guys??? Neutral

this one is going down to the wire again. i hope mclaren get their act together, for heikki and lewis' sake.

Heikki is very unlucky, and because of that and a handful of not so impressive results everyone thinks he's rubbish (my dad especially).
My friend told me that he read that when Bourdais was asked could he have done anything else to give Massa the necessary room he said 'Yeah, roll out the red carpet and bow down.' Love it.
I have the race on my Sky+ and I was watching the first corner again in slow motion (because Sky+ does that Smile) and I noticed that Lewis dove between Heikki and Kimi but was well ahead of them both by the time he had to run wide at the exit of the corner and it was Heikki that actually pushed Kimi out. Did anyone else see that, or is it just my eyes?
