| Quote: | "The Race of Champions was in the evening, in the stadium with the lights, but the races weren’t long or serious so it’s going to be all new. It will be interesting to see how it feels; how it’s different, whether it’s good or bad. Coming from Finland where we have 24 hours of darkness in the winter, I don’t think I will have any problems, I am used to that! The circuit looks fantastic, there seem to be a few overtaking opportunities, so hopefully it will be a good race. Races in cities always have a great atmosphere, so I am looking forward to it.
"The main thing to consider is that we remain sharp at a later time in the day. We need to keep the rhythm correct and sleep well. This is all taken care of by the team, but it’s still a big challenge. The team is taking every measure possible to ensure the timings of the weekend have no impact on our performance, to make sure we are physically ready. For example, the hotel rooms will be blacked out so we can sleep late into the day, special arrangements will be put in place to make sure the cleaners don’t come into the room, as they would not expect people to be sleeping until early afternoon. The telephones will not ring, all those kind of things. We will essentially be isolated from the normal workings of the hotel. It is a much more demanding task to make sure you don’t switch to the local time, because your body automatically wants to change, external factors such as light, temperature, humidity are all encouraging it. As with any flyaway race, the process will start from when we land in Singapore, we will stay up until early morning on the day we land."

Ferrari-McLaren
Massa-Hamilton
The Finnish drivers just behind them... and Alonso (As always on Friday ) on top.
I don't see good points in the track to make overtakings. Long race (According to the counts I've made, arround 1h and 48-50 min if it's a dry race) and the 'double chicanne' (Curves 10 and 11) is the best curve by far.
On the TV it looks great... but it should be secondary. Chances of watching a boring races are high and that's more important. |

Personally I think if there is any race that can produce an upset then maybe this is the one.Especially so if it rains during the race, but hopefully Heikki and Lewis will be up there at the front no matter what the meteorological state the race be run in, but I do hope there will be precipitational element involved at some stage , just to " spice" things up. Good luck Heikki!. |

Highlights can be found on the ITV F1 website for anyone in the UK. If you're out of the UK then I'm sorry, but I can't help you. |
Yes, he did. But I think there was something in the last curve, because Trulli also did a spin some seconds before.
Webber crashed... and minor incidents. |

well that was kind of a dismal race for heikki
going into the first corner it looked like he might have been able to make a few places but it all kinda went down hill.
i read that apparently heikki's car was damaged in those first few corners and he lost momentum, then suffered brake problems later on which, along with traffic, prevented him from overtaking.
i guess the safety car worked out for some but not others. its a shame he couldnt get a points finish, but luckily as both ferraris did badly mclaren still have the edge in the constructors hopefully heikki will be able to add some more points tot the in the last few races. _________________
