two or three I think.
Is it in the rules that you can change gearboxes and engines if you retire? Because nobody seems to get penalised if they have to change an engine because it fails and they retire from the race.
If this is true he'll have got a new after Spain...
Someone else work it out, I'm too tired.

It was the 2nd race with the gearbox.

There is no penalization if you break something during the race. Engine or gearbox. You can change it for the future.

You just have penalization if you change it during the weekend and before the race (Taking into account that Friday engines are different from Saturady and Sunday engines, so you can change the engine you use on Friday)

The date for the appeal has been set as the 22nd of September, and the decision should be posted the day after.

Sir Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda both think the penalty was unfair. And they both had the same reasoning as to why the rest of the paddock say it was fair; they are competing against Hamilton and it benefits them if he has less points.

I think Sir Stewart's comment about some kind of drivers conspiracy against Lewis are a bit far fetched, to be honest Smile they said what they thought as drivers, I think, nothing against Lewis personally...

It might have been, but in the end they do all want to do better, and that means that someone else has got to do worse. I agree with him. They're not out against Lewis alone, but all against each other, like in any sport

Mini wants a rant:
The appeal has been thrown out due to it being inadmissible.
You know what this means don't you? They've got nothing against him, so they're going to say simply that he's not allowed to appeal against a 'drive-through' penalty (even though it was added after the race) and make McLaren pay the appeal costs, even though they didn't technically appeal if it was thrown out because it was inadmissible. I know some people will disagree with me on this, but if you think about it, the FIA are doing all that they can to help Ferrari by giving Felipe Massa this win, and taking points away from his biggest rival.
It's a conspiracy, and I think everyone knows it, even Ferrari fans.

I think it would have been worse if they've changed the ''choice'' they made in Belgium. I don't want more controversy about the fact... if Hamilton and McLaren wins, everything will be forgotten (About the championship, not the race) in some weeks.

Yeah but if they don't I think people will start to question the FIA even more. If they find it necessary to favour Ferrari they should do it a hell of a lot less obviously for the rest of the season, or people are going to be asking some serious questions.
Although, come to think of it, where would you go with a complaint against the FIA?

this is the centre of the issue. if they had reversed their decision then every team would start questioning the fia every time they are handed a penalty. the fia needs to show that you cant mess with it in the least otherwise theyd be flooded with petitions. i agree with spaniard on this one.

however, that being said i DO still believe that the decision to allow/deny hamilton and mclarens appeal was already decided waaaaaay before the hearing. the fia knew they were never going to change their minds. probably just wanted to waste some of the teams time just to show them whose boss and to make them think twice about ever going for an appeal again.

dagnabbit dem sneaky fia types is up teh no good agin conflabit.
