Yeah but if you think about it, most of the drivers did exactly what Piquet did...
He didn't make any spectacular overtaking moves, none of that, he just drove a race like the rest of them and good fortune and a strategy gamble meant he came out with a podium.
It's not like he even had to defend himself against Massa, because Massa was lacking pace.

Indeed. But the pressure is much heavier if you have to keep the podium, or if you are driving in 15th place. Much much different.

Well done young Piquet, especially seeing that before he was not so good under pressure, this time he kept it all together!!! Wink

thats what i was thinking. being in a position to achieve your first podium will put you under more pressure than scrapping at the back.

I understand the pressure is more when you're looking at a podium rather than a 15th place...
But for the same (ish) reason I think Hamilton deserves more credit. He nearly lost a win... much more pressure than nearly losing a point. And he would have lost points to his rivals (well, Massa) if he hadn't regained the places.

Well done to Piquet, yes, but I still think Hamilton did a better race.

Hamilton is used to pressure, he fights for win almost at every race. For Piquet it was something new in Formula 1. So i think he did very good job, and he even drove Renault, which is much much worse car than McLaren, who has (as some say) even TC (!)

There is no TC in MP4-23. It's just rumors.
