And part Two...
On Saturday morning we left quite late and headed to Rocher immediately, to try and walk down, but that was forbidden as the security stood there and send everyone back. Wendy was a little more determined to make it down than me when she found out Sandra and Tinus were at the paddock, and she climbed a little up the, then slid down and eventually grabbed a lightpole to make her way down past the security. I on the other hand, just waited for the right opportunity, walked down, climbed over the fence and jumped down...Much easier...and, no dust, sand, mud and other dirt on my hands!
I walked over to the paddock and saw Sandra and Tinus coming back. Had a chat with them and walked on to the paddock. The first person I saw was Flonso. URGH! ARGH!!! I was about to go back again...
While I was looking for Wendy, I saw Barrichello and Nelsinho Piquet. I couldn’t find Wendy, so I walked over to the other side of the paddock, but she wasn’t there either. Called her and it turned out she was only a few meters away from the place I stood at first...bloody typical...
She joined me at the other side, as we could stand on something there and look over the fence. Brilliant for stalking and photographing! A security guy nearly freaked out when people stood in front of the scooters, and started rattling to us in French. Uhuh...Oui, mais bien... Whatever...but then it turned out one of the scooters was his... Well, it’s not like we plan to screw it... So once we nodded oui it was fine...
Wendy also told me she had managed to give Nico his gift. As he was in a rush though, he took it, handed it to his physio, signed for Wendy and then left to the pits.
And guess who we spotted as well? Chris Albers!!! Chris was there! That was cool! When we first saw him, he was on the phone, so I yelled: “Goodafternoon Chris!” He looked up, smiled and waved. Later on he came back and wasn’t on the phone, so I called him over and jokingly asked him if he was already thinking about leaving DTM. That was followed by a lot of laughter from Chris and an ‘of course not!’ Turned out he was there because of some sponsorship duties.
A little while later we saw Maro entering the paddock and me and Wendy screamed: “MAROOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!” Of course he heard it (Like duh...I think they may have heard us in Nice...) and waved!
We saw pretty much all of the F1 guys going and coming back from FP3 and quali, except for the RBR and STR guys, as they take the other side, as the Energy Station is located in the harbour.
Oh and we saw Eddie Jordan, Alain Prost and Flaav and his chick as well. The latter two got a lot of attention and so did Jean Todt and Michelle Yeoh (Better known as YO!). The McLaren guys really signed a lot, practically each time they came by they signed, and there weren’t even that many people, because the paddock was only accessible for those with a VIP tickets (or anything similar) or a ticket for grandstand E. Whaha, I was frantically searching for my Heikki photo and was about to think I had lost it. Muwhaha, of course not, I had already got his autograph earlier that week! Muwhaha, Blonde...
Schumi came by a couple of times as well, but unfortunately he didn’t stop at our place to sign.
Then there were two Diva’s (aka: Mister Rosberg and Mister Button) who failed to show up and let us wait for hours and hours and hours... I had already asked Jules after FP3 if Jenson was still in the pits, but she said he most possibly wasn’t coming back until quali was done.
Hmmz, and there were a few weirdos, who kept screaming each time a driver showed up. Really pathetic, even worse than the ski jumping Kreischies. And they are baaad, really baaad. So you’ll get the idea. Groupies, but then worse!
Also, the photographers went nuts when a guy was walking over and me and Wendy where like; who the fcuk is that?! Then some people started to shout: RAOUL!! And we were like...Raoul? Must be a footballplayer then. But is Raoul his first, or last name? (Later on we read it’s written as Raul, so that really does show our football knowledge...as a matter of fact,
I didn’t even recognize him when he walked outside of the paddock...)
We sort of tried to watch quali on the Ferrari screen, but it was too far away and binoculars didn’t really help either...so we turned to Carola for help, who texted us the results of each session immediately after it was done.
Whahah, and Sutil, Piquet and Bas Leinders were parading up and down. We’ve seen them over and over again.
The GP2 was followed through our binoculars as well, when Jenson showed up. Whaha, Wendy and I had made a bet which of the Diva’s would come round the corner first... Jenson naturally... I asked him if he could sign and he came over to sign my two photos. As I was holding my photos, a pen and my camera, I handed him the photos a tad unhandy and practically broke his arm *cough* that ought to be taken with a pinch of salt, but I could have done it more elegant... Jules was the perfect PA and took the photos after Jens had signed them and then I got them back.
Another while later the Überdiva showed up, but Nico turned out in a rush, shouted something to us, but as the GP2 cars were going round, it was hard to understand and we decided to hop over to Williams and wait for Nico. Before we got there, we saw Mika Hakkinen and Hugo walk away, but they turned away from us, so I couldn’t take a good photo. Nico was still giving an interview to the press, and then ran inside to give more interviews (he really couldn’t come over to sign then...). Miss Silvia said something in Italian to the fans, on which I asked if she could say it in English as well. I sort of understood it, but I just wanted to be sure. Ah well, not like we were going anywhere. We followed the GP2 on the screen in the Williams motorhome and saw Ho Pin Tung getting P2. Brilliant!
And while we were waiting, guess who popped up? MARO! We chatted with him for a while and we must have totally scared him off by our illegal actions *cough* who? Us? He also wanted to know what we were doing at Williams and why Wendy had a Finnish flag with her, so we told him it was for Nico. Whaha, you know, the poor bloke had to buy himself a ticket in order to pick up his card... Not very well arranged from Nobbie...tututut. And he was cold, because up in the Merc vipstand (on some apartment building) it was very windy and freezing. Awww...at least he had free drinks and free food (I reckon...). Whahaha, and when we told him we had planned to stay up at 5.15AM on Sunday, he must have thought we were idiots...
Tom Kristensen walked by as well, and we shouted: “Hey Tom!” He then asked what we were doing outside the fence, instead of being in the paddock (geez...are we notorious on the DTM paddock or what?!)
Oh and Kazuki Nakajima was missing as well... Miss Silvia called him several times and when he finally showed up, the first thing he did, the true Japanese bloke that he is, was apologizing...
We also saw George Lucas leaving the motorhome and then, finally, Nico showed up and came to Wendy and me first to sign. Wendy asked him if he found the time to open his present yet, but he hadn’t. Whaha, and when he left, he briefly posed for the fans and then went back inside.
Oh and at the Energy station there was this African guy (or something) and he was signing for people as well. No clue who he was, but must have been a footballplayer as well then...
And I forgot, we saw Boris Becker as well, which isn’t too strange as he’s a big F1 fan as well.
The weather today was rather crap. Not much sun and some rain, although quali was driven on a dry track. I had promised John Button I’d do a raindance, and I did, but apparantly I am not a very good dancer (well, skip the apparantly, I just can’t dance!) as the rain went away...
Whahaha and Wendy’s driver radar is crap!! This weekend I always was the first to spot Andi Zuber, and he’s not even my guy! So we decided to exchange radars and I got her Maro radar and she got my Andi radar... Let’s see if it works...
We also saw Tonio Liuzzi, with his rather ugly lady (well, at least he won’t like her for her looks then, so it must be true love...) with a suitcase that was stuck together with ducktape *snort*
And did you think Fisi was a true Italian gentleman? Think again...He and Louise Goodman were going to a boat and Fisi jumped on it, but when Louise wanted to, the boat floated away for a bit and she nearly fell in the water. Fisi, the true gentleman he could have been, could have helped her, but instead he stood up front on deck and couldn’t be arsed to help. When he came to the back, there was another woman offering her hand to help Louise on board and Fisi just stood and watched. Tututut, not really nice there Fisi...
And if you thought our only illegal action was sneaking off Rocher and running over the paddock was the only illegal thing we’ve done, well you are wrong. We walked over to the GP2 paddock in the parking garage and saw that there was security at one entrance, though not at the other, so we just walked inside, made our round, took photos of the teams packing, drivers that were there, Yelmer, Alvaro Parente, who was sitting in the truck in his underwear and Bruno Senna and Luca Filippi. Bruno was telling Luca a story and suddenly said: “And then it went like this,” and started hopping up and down. Luca, on the other hand had a facial expression like he was thinking; what the fcuk? Whatever mate, I don’t understand you...
Anyway, then, after we had made our round, a security guy came to us and asked us if we had passes. Of course we didn’t, so he asked us to leave. Okay mate, no problem, we were done anyway! Muwhaha!
Back at home we enjoyed a delicious pancake meal *snort* and then went to bed as tomorrow an early day awaits us.
The alarm going off at 5.15AM is really too early! The things you do to get a good spot on Rocher... When we arrived at the trainstation, we saw the first train was leaving at 7.03AM! Like...what the fcuk?!?! That’s not cool! The train’s supposed to leave at 6, just like the last two years I’ve been in Monaco! So we had to wait for another hour. Sandra and Tinus showed up as well, so we had a chat with them and left them in Monaco to look for umbrella’s as we headed up the hill to find ourselves a good spot. We did find a pretty good spot, near Mister Englishman, who’s there every year as well, and entertaining the people through his megaphone...
We also got a textmessage from the Williams freak, asking us if we had managed to give Nico the gift. Yes we did, but we couldn’t be arsed to text him back...
And the weather was pretty crap today!! A few rainshowers and if you know Rocher, you know that in the dry it’s not too comfortable, but in the wet it’s even worse and very slippary, something a guy found out. It may have been a combination of alcohol (early in the morning that is already...) and the rain, but he slid down and hurt his back, so people were shouting for the medical staff. It was only when Mister Englishman used his megaphone that the medics showed up. Whahah, not only a sense of humor, but useful as well! Anyways, he was escorted away and we haven’t seen him anymore. Not that we mind, because he was quite annoyingly holding his umbrella in our way, so we couldn’t see the last corner...
The Porsche race was the first of the day and due to the rain, it was started behind the safety car. Jeroen started from pole, kept the lead and won. YAY! So me and Wendy were signing (shouting...) along with the Dutch anthem! Wahey! Also, Michael Bleekemolen, Jeroen and Sebastiaan’s dad, had to go to the podium. He wanted to drive his Porsche into the pits, but the marshalls urged him to drive to start/finish. He didn’t understand at first, so it must have really been a surprise for him. The reason for it was because he drove for the 30th time in Monaco and was honoured for that. Was really cool to see both Jeroen and his dad on the podium together!
There wasn ‘t much racing in the World Series. The race was already started behind the safety car for the exact same reasons as the Porsches were and once the kids were released they made quite a mess of it and the safety car was brought on track quite a few times. Giedo got second, which is ace!
Whahaha, and there was this guy, who was already getting quite wasted, in front of us and when his phone rang, he wanted to pic up, but instead of the phone, he brought his beer bottle to his ear. Muwhaha...FOOL! And later on he did it again...seriously...some people are just plain stupid...
After the driver’s parade, the guys came to the pits and Mister Englishman was very much on it, shouting everyones names and all that. Quite a few waved, some didn’t and one totally enjoyed the attention (that being Lewis...). As a matter of fact, he walked over to the pit entry and waved to the peops on Rocher and all that. Quite cool though!
Mister Englishman suddenly started to shout that the lady with the white bag had to wave. Me, spying for drivers through my binoculars found the lady with the white bag and was like: what the fcuk?! That looks like Chiara! Texted where she was the lady with the white bag and indeed it was her! *snort*
Whaha, and Wendy was filming and all of a sudden lost balance and slid down a tad. Muwhaha, that’s on film
Oh, and during the WSR and F1 is was dry, which was good. I hadn’t planned to watch the whole race from underneath my umbrella!
Fortunately the F1 started normal. In the first lap, Jenson lost his front wing, which pretty much sucked... Thank god it happend on the last short straight before the pits, so he could go in without losing too much time (And I managed to take a photo of the actual ‘crash’!
The rest of the race was soooo exciting!! Unlike last year when I was dozing off on Rocher, there was absolutely no time to doze off now. And frankly, with a race like this, I don’t give a shit who’s winning (though I’d rather not see Flonso win...). Bleh, and Nico’s crash was rather horrible, but seeing as he jumped out of the car immediately, was a good sign. At least he’s not seriously injured.
After the race the guys jumped in the cars that brought them to the press co. Lewis sat up on the roof and was waving madly to the fans! Really ace!
We then decided to go to the paddock to see if we could still stalk the drivers. At McLaren it was crowded, naturally because Lewis won, and it was hard to pass all of those people, because there’s such a small space between the paddock and the water. We eventually managed and walked on, but not many drivers were to be seen.
Instead, when we waited at the Energy Station, Casey Stoner came out of the paddock. Wendy spotted him immediately and had her photo taken with him. Naturally people asked us who that guy was (god, that seemed to be the question of the weekend...).
We waited at Williams for a while and done some eavesdropping with the German telly. They were talking about Nico and that he was brought to hospital, but just for a check up as he seemed to be okay after leaving the medical centre (phew, glad we managed to give the gift yesterday!)
Oh and we also saw Puff Daddy/P.Diddy/Puff Diddy/P.Daddy/Whatever his name is this year... but I was too late to take a proper photo. Ah well, he ain’t the most important person for me anways, so no loss there...
Then we spotted Chiara and I shouted her name, had a chat with her and finally had our photo taken together! Wahey! She went back to her hotel to change and then go back to Vijay Mallya’s massive ship for the party. Lucky her!
As it was getting quite late, we decided to wait over the the other side of the paddock to see if there were still guys leaving. Rubens Barrichello popped up from a surprising angle and left on his scooter. People a little further down the paddock shouted that Kimi was coming, so we were well prepared, but Kimi behaved like a stoical Finn, marched on, jumped on a scooter, didn’t look left or right and drove off.
The next one was Felipe Massa, who actually signed for a few people, then had massive trouble turning his Vespa in the right direction and sped off as well.
Nick Heidfeld also showed up with his wife Patricia, the chick who is responisble for his Yeti look. Urgh!!! Where’s her sense of having a normal looking husband?
Then...then Jens showed up! WAHEY! Wendy and me immediately jumped in front of him and I asked if I could have my photo taken with him. ‘Of course’ was the answer, so I was way over the moon. Jens left as well and when I got back (*cough*, I short of stalked him until he drove off...) Nick Heidfeld had gotten back and was sitting on a scooter which was waaaay too big for him. He barely managed to put his feet on the ground!
Teehee, and a guy walked over to Wendy and said if she knew we were in the Iltalehti. Wahahah, we are sooo famous! Finns recognized us! *snort*
DC left as well and he signed my photo. Wahey! Over the weekend I managed to get quite a lot of photos signed, which was really cool! Still not Schumi, but I considering getting Schu’s autograph as a massive bonus, because it’s so hard to get his, that I’ll be over the moon if I’m lucky enough to get one
Oh, and Mister Rosato (I’ll never forget his name anymore...) tried to leave as well, but the unreliable factor in the Ferrari team turned out to be the scooters and what ever he tried, he couldn’t start it. I took a hilarious stupid video of it (naturally the wrong way, sort of upside down... I am blonde, so apologies...)
Whaha, and the media peoples where very jealous (they saw green in fact

) that we already had the latest Red Bulletin and they hadn’t. Muwhaha, they wanted to know how we got them and were off to look for some!
At 7PM the track opened, so we went on it and walked immediately over to the spot where Nico had crashed. He left quite a nice dent in the rail and we pimped it up by writing his name above it. Unfortunately we couldn’t find proper cars parts that were left on track, so we walked on to do some more souvenir hunting. In front of the K grandstand I found two small cars parts. I reckon it’s part of a rim, as it looks like the parts I have at home already. Wahey! And I also found a small piece of carbon fibre! More souvenirs!
At the boats we spotted Eddie and took a photo. Also Jeroen Bleekemolen and Jaap van Lagen were sitting on a boat, which looked rather old actually and didn’t really fit in the line of luxurious yachts. But then again, it still was moored next to the track, so it must have been luxurious enough to be allowed to moor there
We spotted many, many nice and also very expensive cars on our way to casino. And Chris Dyer was walking in the tunnel. A Japanese bloke ran past us, towards him, so we could take a photo. Stood at Casino for a while, watched some silly weird Asians in front of Hotel de Paris and then had a look at the massive, massive ships from Mallya and Flav to see if anything interesting was going on. Well, you may not call it interesting, but we got a very clear sign that money is absolutely no issue for Mallya. He had many white, expensive flowers on his boat, but when we arrived they had been changed to red flowers. And the white flowers, which still were perfectly fine, were just thrown away! We saw many people giving the flowers a new life. Such a waste in my humble opinion. There was absolutely nothing wrong with those flowers and they must have cost a fortune... Also, the flowers in the motorhome were just piled up, ready to be tossed into the first garbage bin. It’s that I’m in a hotel, otherwise I would take some home with me as well...
We went back to the trainstation and had just missed the train. That’s normally not much of a problem, only this time, the next train was leaving two hours later!! So we went back to Monaco, decided to dine in the McDonalds (instead of throwing a plate of pasta in the microwave...) and went to the paddock again to take some photos of Monaco at night. At 10.45 PM we suddenly saw Nick Heidfeld and Patricia coming back to the paddock again. Hmmz? No clue what they were going to do, but possibly they were heading to a party or something...Whaha, and I’ve seen so many people looking très chique for whatever... Whaha, dresscode for walking around I reckon...
Naturally the train had half an hour delay, so we had to wait longer again! In the train I fell asleep immediately (Normally I don’t sleep in trains/planes/cars, but I was so tired that it didn’t surprise me...) Whaha, it was quite an effort to wake me up according to Wendy!
Was glad I got back home, still half a sleep, walking around like I was somewhat drunk isn’t fun, when all you want is a bed... Took a quick shower, then jumped in bed and continued sleeping.
Our flight was leaving quite late on Monday, so we went to check out Nice. It rained a bit, but it wasn’t that much (yet...). We sat down on a bench when an annoying guy showed up, started rattling to me in French. Then tried in English, but all of a sudden I didn’t know how to speak English anymore. It was not like he was prince charming, in fact, he was rather slick and creepy, so I ignored him and didn’t appreciate the fact he lay his hand on my shoulder, pretty much refusing to go away. Eventually when I shot him a look, he understood the hint and buggered off...That took him long...
Then it did start to rain seriously and there were strong winds as well. The fleemarket turned into a mess and we went to shelter for a bit. We saw a guy approaching with a cat on his shoulder. Whaha, cute!! As the rain got less, we walked over to the McDonalds and sat down there, enjoying a milkshake. Two hours and tons of silly wordgames later we decided to leave. Walked around for a bit and then went to the airport where we found out that we had half an hour delay. Bugger!
Eventually our flight arrived and it turned out the purser was English. In fact, we couldn’t even understand him in Dutch. I appreciate the fact that he tried, but it wasn’t too professional from KLM really... Thank God his English was perfect (DUH!) so I listened to that.
Our pilot let us know that we had a short flight ahead of us, due to the wind blowing from the right direction and he expected to land pretty much on the original scheduled time. Wahey!
It was quite cloudy during the flight, but in an open spot, we saw a huge city below. I said I thought it was Paris, Wendy didn’t at first, but then changed her opinion as well. To find out, we went looking for the Eifeltower, but it was hard to be seen. It was very beautiful though to see the lights and all that from up the sky. Really, really beautiful!
After we landed, Wendy’s dad picked us up and drove us home. About 5 minutes after we got to Wendy’s, we were in bed and slept like babies (Now y’all go: awwww...

).
