I don't think anybody knows at the moment what's gonna happen to Heikki next year, but if the opportunity to test GP2 car exists - I'm sure it's better to do it with someone as fast and experienced as Heikki! we'll wait and see, because there is still a chance that he might be driving GP2 car next season, so this test might prove advantageous to him! of course it's only logical if after GP2 Heikki moves to F1 (as did Nico), but on the other hand being stuck as a third driver for too long doesn't always pay off.. Look at Anthony Davidson! at least with BMW Heikki will still practice in some competitive racing, in a hope to move to a better time next...

Piquet ends Paul Ricard test on top

Thursday, February 23rd 2006, 18:34 GMT

Nelson Piquet Jr emerged fastest on the final day of official GP2 testing at Paul Ricard.

Piquet's lap of 1:13.068 was good enough for the third fastest time overall in the week's two-day test at the circuit, behind ART's Lewis Hamilton and Super Nova's Jose Maria Lopez best laps from yesterday.

Hamilton continued to demonstrate how consistent he is likely to be this season, finishing the day second quickest behind Piquet.

World Series by Renault race winner Andreas Zuber was third fastest, driving for new GP2 team Trident Racing, ahead of Ernesto Viso, whose morning time was good enough for fourth quickest of the day.

New Racing Engineering recruit Adam Carroll was fifth quickest.

This morning's session had a number of red flags as the drivers pushed their cars to the limits and learnt the reconfigured equipment.

Hamilton's fastest time from yesterday suggested that the configuration of cars, with a bi-plane rear wing and new tyres, are three seconds per lap quicker around the 2.4 mile '3D' track layout of the French circuit.
