Champ Car rookie of the year and ex-Formula One tester Timo Glock is believed to be testing Nico Rosberg's championship winning GP2 car at this week's test in Paul Ricard, implying a return to Europe is on the cards for the German driver.

Glock, who made a number of appearances in the GP2 paddock this season, has been a member of the Deutsche Post Speed Academy for a number of years, and moved to America when he was unable to find a drive for this year in Formula One.

Given his backing, a return to European racing would provide a better marketing platform than continuing in Champ Car, despite his success there.

Glock is expected to share the car with Lewis Hamilton, who is strongly tipped to take one of the ART seats for 2006, while Hayanari Shimoda is likely to be in the second car on both days.

Racing Engineering have also announced their line-up for this week: new driver Javier Villa will test for both days, while the second car will be shared between experienced GP2 drivers Juan Cruz Alvarez and Jose Maria Lopez.

Neither of the Argentine drivers have announced a deal for 2006, and both will be hoping to impress team boss Alfonso de Orleans and claim a seat with the rapidly improving outfit.

The test will take place on December 1-2 at Circuit Paul Ricard, and will be the final GP2 test of 2005.

Vera, it looks like Timo is going to get a seat even without 5,000 letters Wink

Glock close to BCN seat
Former Jordan driver Timo Glock is on the verge of signing with GP2 team BCN Competicion for this season, although the team have insisted that a deal is not done yet.

The German, who won the Champ Car Rookie of the Year title by finishing eighth in the standings for Rocketsports last year, has been eyeing a switch to the category after testing with reigning champions ART at Paul Ricard in December.

He impressed in the session, setting the second fastest time on the opening day of the test.

BCN team principal Enrique Scalabroni confirmed that negotiations were underway, and hoped a deal could be finalised later this week.

"Yes, there have been talks, but nothing is signed yet," Scalabroni told autosport.com. "Maybe we will make an announcement on Friday or at the start of next week."

Timo is great! I like german drivers, of course. Wink I'm so happy that he's in GP2. I drive to the Formula 1 race to Hockenheim and there I see Timo again. Very Happy
And Lewis is driving, too. So... Wink

Is it easy to get access to the drivers in Hockenheim? Question
