Dear Members of the Forum!!

The rules for our forum are long overdue. Please take time to read these rules through and it will be greatly appreciated if we all can follow them:)

1. Introduction. Please introduce yourself in the “Introduce Yourself” thread of the forum. Preferably we would like to know where you’re from, how old you are and are male or female. If you wish to add any additional information about yourself such as whether you work or study, your real name, your hobbies or how you came about being Heikki’s fan – feel free to write as much as you want!

2. New members .If you are a new member and will not leave at least one message your login details will be deleted from the database 2 (two) weeks after the date of your registration. If you registered on the forum but for any reason do not wish to post any messages or take part in the discussions, leaving the introductory message as above will be enough to keep you login details for as long as you are enjoying visiting this forum.

3. Existing members. If you are already registered here for some time, your 2 weeks countdown will start from the date you receive these rules via email.

4. Language. If you are posting on the forum please refrain from using offensive language as well as text message language such as “plz”, “btw”, “c u” etc. – that is our only request with regards to the use of language of the forum. The main language of the forum is English, but if there is a need to communicate in other languages a separate zone will be created for you. Admin team appreciates that for some (most) of the members English is not a mother tongue, so your messages will not be edited unless you ask the admin to do so for you.

5. Behaviour. Please refrain from personal attacks on both forum members and drivers and their partners. Healthy critique is acceptable and is encouraged.

6. New topics. Feel free to start any topic but make sure that it hasn’t been done already on the same subject.

7. Pictures. Please do not post full-size pictures if they are bigger than 800x600. If your picture exceeds these parameters please post either thumbnails or links (in this case please specify if your link leads to a gallery).

Make sure that pictures of the cars are posted in the special directory called "The Car and The Helmet" (http://heikki.forumup.com/viewtopic.php?t=170&mforum=heikki) The rest should be posted in "Portraits" (http://heikki.forumup.com/viewtopic.php?t=97&mforum=heikki). Please start new topics only if the pictures you want to post do not fit into the above categories.

8. Attention - the access to the Pictures thread is granted to members with a post count starting from 5 at least. We are doing it because people are working hard to get their original pictures, and we'd appreciate a little bit of respect from the side of lurkers
NB: When you have enough posts to 'qualify', PM me or Lady!

8. Q & A. If you have any questions please contact Admin Vera.

Laughing So I'm not allowed to post "personal attacks on drivers and their partners" but I may attack their mothers, children, managers, teambosses, GP's, janitors, etc...? Or would that be a violation of the offensive language rule?

(This not being healthy critique but more a general remark on the limitations of this rule by someone who doesn't understand why you would want to attack a driver's partner (however, now i think about it...) Wink )

I don't think it's necessary to describe the rule this wide, because normal people shouldn't even think of it Wink
It's just I know a lot of people can't refrain from using offensive words towards people they don't like - ok, you can do it in your room, with your friends, but not here, because the net is toooo popular place for someone not to notice it Confused

Fair comment. I am sure you realise that the rule is addressed to the MOST common form of personal attacks - on the drivers who a person doesn't like, or a person's favourite driver's partner. I cannot quite comprehend why would anybody want to attack "mothers, children, managers, teambosses, GP's, janitors, etc..." But I'd advise not to try it here Wink Just in case Wink
