Alonso slams Schumacher
12 September 2006
According to the Spaniard Michael Schumacher is the most unsporting F1 driver of all times. Alonso made it clear he won't be missing the German when he retires at the end of the season.
During the Italian Grand prix weekend Fernando Alonso received a penalty after qualifying because the Renault driver blocked Schumacher's teammate Felipe Massa. Alonso obviously didn't agree with his punishment, and slammed Schumacher earlier this year for trying to mess up Monaco's qualifying session when the German blocked the track in the final qualifying minute.
"Michael is the most unsporting driver F1 has ever seen," Alonso told Spanish radio station Marca.
"Zidane retired with more glory than Schumacher," he added.
The Spaniard did, however, admit how much he enjoyed the opportunity to race against the seven-time Worl Champion.
"That doesn't mean he hasn't been the best driver, and fighting against him has been an honour and a pleasure," Alonso said.
Alonso has a two point lead over Schumacher with only three races to go this season but disagrees with his Team Principal Flavio Briatore that a run of decisions against the Renault team has gifted Schumacher the drivers' title.
"I don't agree with Flavio. They haven't given the title to Schumacher already. It's true there have been a lot of decisions against some and in favour of other but that's it."
That's the spirit |

I think it's very funny. He's young, he's angry, he feels disadvantaged . Let him calm down and then it's okay.
But I think he's right if we look at the statistic? I believe that Schumi had a lot of punishments during his career. |

Yeh, youre right! But was this the ideal time to come up with these comments? I mean i never heard Michael Schumacher saying something ugly about Alonso..
I always feel a little angry when some drivers are talking about others. Let they compete at the track and not by the media! I can remember how much Alonso hated the press for saying nasty things about him.. Now he uses them to do the same thing |

What he could say at the moment? Alonso wins fair and square |

Some things never change...
But most of all, MS is the idol for many young newbies and they've got bad lessons from that teacher... I saw many young drivers in red stallion caps or shoes or overalls - and their behavior on track and after races were very nasty... |

well, Bernie has nothing to do with the FIA actually.
the other thing is, that everyone should be allowed to say his oppinion and just because we are talking about schumacher (or better Alonso is) it is bad and unrespectfull and whatever.
I am not a big Alonso fan (how could I - Iīve supported Kimi all the years ) but he was totally right with his statements and itīs brave that a young driver like him, in this situation where he is right now, makes such a statement.
Except Montoya or Villeneuve no driver did that before. But fact is, that schumacher is unfair and itīs fantastic that so many ppl are discussing about it now and hopefully checking the case more detailled then just saying yes, I agree or no, I donīt agree.
FREEDOM OF THE SPEECH!!!
WOULD YOU PLEASE NOT INSULT OTHER DRIVERS!! _________________
