I couldn't believe my eyes during the race!!! Finally Mika had benefits from the safety car Very Happy It must have been a great feeling for him to pass all these drivers while they had to pit and Mika hadn't Laughing Laughing I am sooooooooo happy!!! I hope he can continue this in Zandvoort, because then I will be there!!!

whooooohooooo congratulations, Mika!!!!

What for a race was that?????? Shocked
I know and fully admit as a mika-fan that mika was far to optimistic there. Nice try, but it just wasn't possible. So I can imagine that tomczyk was angry, although mika didnt do it on purpose.
nd than the situation with ekstrom and la rosa....I think it was partly ekstroms own fault...

I really do not understand why audi did this silly thing. I brings a lot of damage to the dtm and the audi's are no angles either....only look at zandvoort. And I'm sure they wouldn't have done it if for example timo scheider was leading the race.

I'm quite curious what everyone thinks about the race and what happened.

I've not seen the race, only read the reports online this morning. But what a curious decision that seems to have been for Audi Confused Hopefully I'll be able to catch a re-run on TV soon and make my own mind up about what happened..

Hakkinen retires from racing

Mika Hakkinen has decided to retire from racing in the DTM, the Finn announced on Saturday.

The former Formula One world champion has competed in the series for the past three years with Mercedes, scoring a total of three victories in that time.

"It's time for me to stop racing in the DTM," Hakkinen said at the Mercedes-Benz 'Stars & Cars' event in Stuttgart. "That's the bad news.

"The good news is for the other competitors, they can have some peace on the track now."

Hakkinen added that while he was retiring from racing, he will remain involved with Mercedes in some form.

"It's been great racing in the DTM," he said. "I won't stop doing things with Mercedes though. We will announce something soon."
